Life Insurance and a Parapalegic

Has anyone written a fe policy on a parapalegic? It looks like Oxford is one of the few apps that list it as an automatic decline, unless most life insurance companies consider a parapalegic as needing assistance with ADL's?

What are your thoughts?

Thanks,

Ron

Doesn't just about every policy ask about wheelchair?

A paraplegic might not need help with ADLs, but is almost certainly confined to a wheelchair or motorized mobility device.

I forgot about the wheelchair question.

American Memorial would take him at standard rate.

Newby, do you know of any other carrier that is not pre-need only? How about a carrier that someone who is not tied to a funeral home can get appointed. I was studying carriers and placing info in a spreadsheet format to help me learn underwriting guidelines and this was something that got me thinking.

Newby can probably answer this better. However, AM is not pre need only. No need for a funeral home.
