Not all states require life rates to be filed, but that is not really the point. They did acknowledge the rates are public record, BUT they were focusing on their trademark and how a comparative quoter was not consistent with their marketing strategy. Rather than engage them in a fight we had no appetite for, the decision to yank them was honored.

I don't know how they could insist their rates not be shown as they are a matter of public record at the DOI..

One alternative would have been not to use their logo as you do with other companies.. However, it is understandable that it would not be worth getting into a legal battle with them as it is probably not going to affect your subscriber base one way or the other..

If he qualifies for preferred the rates for 10k on a 65 year old male smoker would be $70.30/month that's with the ad&d rider and policy fee. I don't write direct bills.

I do not know what preferred is v non, but that is a good rate from what I see.

Oh, that is with $10,000 level, first day, any cause benefit, right? With the AD&D added on top of the $10,000?

Yep. The ad&d is added on the any cause benefit. Same day coverage level.
the ad&d includes :

Accidental death- $5,000
single dismemberment - $2,500
Death due to automobile accident -$10,000
death due to common carrier- $20,000
death due to act of war or terror- $20,000
transportation of mortal remains - $1,000

Would you be willing to quote the same benefit amounts for std. and preferred non tobacco age 65 male?

65 male non tobacco standard- $66.10/month
65 male non tobacco preferred- $61.00/month

Same benefits. With ad&d. And policy fee

Thank you.. Smokers are definitely your niche.. FEXquotes has 25 products that are less than your preferred rates and about 30 that are less than your Std.

And, if one qualifies for the preferred rate they could get a much, much better deal going fully underwritten. You can't get preffered with them if you have taken blood pressure medicine at anytime in the last 5 years. That's just one example.

Their male over age 60 smoker rates is just one place that they are not terrible. They are still easily beaten.

Everywhere else they are not even in the same area code.

I'd love to know what % of LH deaths in the 1st 24 months ever get the death claim paid.

Any of you agents ever ask for that info before?

That is a big deal with the senior market. I'd like to see their app. With the much harder underwriting and cut in comp I have to guess not much Pref'd get written.

They don't get much isued and they don't want much issued. They cut the agent's commission for writing it. That's to encourage agents to not write it.

Every manager I ever spoke with at LH said flatly that they did not want that business.

But the mgr.'s overwrite is the same with any of the apps. Both the mgr.'s contract and the agent's contract drop by the same # of percentage points, so the mgr.'s overwrite is still the same % no matter which app the agent uses.
