Lincoln Heritage - what is their niche? Are they #1 as they say?

Those jokers have Teams doing Millions of AP every year - year in - year out . . .

These guys aren't jokers, they are extremely savvy businessmen. They sell one product with one company and do more production than most IMO s out there that do dozens of companies with dozens of products.

I wonder if the more successful independent producers emulate the LH model in that respect - perhaps placing all or nearly all of their business with one carrier. For example, JD always seems to have one carrier that gets the bulk of his business. agentguy5 and Spur likewise seem to work that way. I'm not saying that is so ... just wondering (asking?)

I don't think Matt puts the bulk of his biz with one carrier . . .

Yea, I'd say You're mostly right. I prefer to have a main go-to carrier and I go into the house with every intention of writing with that company until the client pulls out a medication or has an ailment that prevents me from writing with that carrier. As we know in the independent world we get a lot of people with a lot of different issues so by the end of the year I end up writing a bunch of different companies because my ultimate goal when inside the home is to get my client first day coverage. Sometimes that means writing with carriers every once in a blue moon. I think that also helps me get to know a carrier inside and out which means I make less mistakes and less mistakes means more business placed. More business placed means more money made.

How are they with drafting on time? I've had there new biz people tell me they can be several days late on first draft.

Hey Baseball!

I haven't had any issues with that nor have my colleagues really complained about it either. Usually I'm one of the first to know when a carrier is screwing up on something. AIG is the one that is getting the complaints right now ;)

Over the course of the year it ends up being spread out pretty good, not by choice but by necessity. But I do like to have a favorite & right now my go-to is Mutual of Omaha.

The Year I wrote 500,000 I wrote about 21 or 22 different carriers

I haven't use Mutual of Omaha yet. What is it you like about them, if I may ask?
