Mailers return rate decline since election

Since the 2020 presidential election, mailer return rates have fallen off a cliff. I am pulling about half the responses I was accustomed to . The mailers returning 2% are not consistently 1% or under and its killing my ROI.

Im curious if other agents are seeing this same trend and what you are doing to combat it ? FB lead gen, telemarketer , warm transfers etc ?? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The last mailing I did was 2000 mailed and drew 1 return. The lead company mailed another 1000 Walmart leads for me and that only drew 3 returns.

Not sure what the "election" has to do with it, however, wouldn't the indication be that "mail in" rates were higher? The mail in rates for the election were astronomical.

My return rate is HORRIBLE on this last mailing.

I'm in PA where the returns were HORRIBLE and received back 21 leads from a DSNP mailer recently through Lead Concepts.

yep, same here. My upline sent out 1,000 and I received 9 replies. The second one has netted only 3. I have another one coming from a different mailing list company, so don't know what the results are yet. Could it be that they are just receiving too much mail?

I bet you a customer can recall how many times they have seen a "tv commercial" over how many mailers received in the mail.

Why get up from my recliner to go to the mail box, when I can pick up the phone and call "Joe"?

I have noticed since November that most of my lead sources have increased in cost per lead (mialers, FB, search) I am not sure what has happened :(

Ask DeJoy... He knows how to manipulate the mail to make is slow as heck and lost mail-in cards..

Personally, I prepare all of my mailings using marketing mail. I only mail within the Northern MI region. I usually start getting calls about 5-7 days out. However, I only do about 1200 pieces a month.

I do letters and mail 5x over a 6 month period. I probably get a 1 return rate.. but again, mine are calls.
