Mailers return rate decline since election

About 9 k dsnp mailers the past 2 months getting .7 which is atrocious . Should be drawing 1.8 to 2% . Mail and lead saturation is real . Need a lead told me other CO's are calling them saying the same thing . Now everyone and their mother is getting into Net leads . Competition for leads is brutal right now . Today while at a prospects house they got 4 Medicare calls .

Ask DeJoy... He knows how to manipulate the mail to make is slow as heck and lost mail-in cards..

*snide political comments aside*

Personally, I prepare all of my mailings using marketing mail. I only mail within the Northern MI region. I usually start getting calls about 5-7 days out. However, I only do about 1200 pieces a month.

I do letters and mail 5x over a 6 month period. I probably get a 1 return rate.. but again, mine are calls.

1200 properly targeted w/ sequence and a decent ad copy can outperform 2,000 "throw it at the wall and see what sticks" any day.

The other part I think that helps, imo, is that I'm not trying to do mail response cards. This is for Medicare only, because I'm quite sure it wouldn't work very well with FE.

The more engaged the client is, have to pick up a phone and actually talk to them vs just filling out a card, the higher the close rates when they're actually a prospect and not just a future lead.

I break down about 12 responses, 40% close, about 3 sales per month without breaking a sweat.

That doesn't sound like much, but I might spend a grand total of 10 hours a week on insurance. So ymmv.

I'm getting wrong address returns from 2 months ago, usps is sucking

I sent out a blind mail my first time and paid full postage.. it was the absolute worst thing I ever did. Expensive af AND returns out the rear.

Lesson learned.

I run the list through NCOA and then again through USPS portals. I started doing this in March and haven't had a return yet.

I have had death calls, but no return mail.

I have mailed out a Medicare T-65 mailer and the response was over 2.5%. I do my own mailings and it has to be new and fresh not what has been done by everyone.

Is that 3 sales a week?
