So I decided to go out and do the discount card fundraiser Mark has on rosenthal files.com. I am doing this for my church's youth group first. I wanted to start with elementary schools, but given the recent headlines walking into schools unannounced didnt seem wise. So this way at least when I get to the schools I will have a finished product to show them and I will have the cards to use to prospect with. I plan on giving them out while I do the survey jmatos came up with.

Results:

Knocked around 35-40 biz doors.
Spoke to 10 decision makers.
Signed up 4 biz for discount card.
1 appt set for tmw. Hair salon was with client but was all about it.
1 appt set for Mon. Par 3 golf course, batting cages etc. He too was all about it, just wanted to think about what to put on it.
1 store mgr gave me owners personal email said he would definitely be interested.
3-4 good call backs.
4 biz let me leave my biz card holder w/cards. Not all the same ones I signed up.
And 1 life insurance prospect.

So sometimes I forget I'm out there to prospect, but I try to non-chalantly transition from fundraiser to prospecter, and any advice on this would be much appreciated. But my one prospect wanted quotes for herself and her boyfriend. Going in next week to give quotes.

Thoughts:

Hardest part was actually finding businesses where I didn't have to speak to a corporate office. Most owners or managers, that could make this decision, signed up.
Corporate America has taken over small businesses.
Except for Vietnamese people. They seem to not like free advertising or the language barrier is getting in the way. :skeptical:

Are you trying to give out free discount cards, or sell insurance? There's a difference, albeit subtle...

You get to do both. You get to help children and get a free ad out of it. One of the ads on the card is yours. SO you will get your ad in front of 5000 - 10,000 people. You will also get in front of business owners and pass the gateway keepers so to speak.

Looks like he is already giving quotes and setting appointments.

There is a lot to this system. Anyone that calls me, I will go over with them. The best thing , is it is free and wont cost your anything. There are sample on my website and a video.

Just think about all that money I raised for all those groups. Think about how many cards my ad is now on, that stays in peoples wallets and purses. The connections I made with business owners and parents.

You are your product. Get out there any help people and let people know how you are and what you are about. Kind of like my facebook Group in Griffin. We are very close in having 5000 members and we have out done the newspaper. Free ads once again..

Day 2

Was out there for 2 hours. (Ran out of forms lol)

Knocked 15 doors
12 decision makers
6 signed up
3 more need me to come back on Monday so they can discuss what to put on card.
2 life ins prospects. I have 2 business partners that are interested in getting policies on each other in case one of them were to die.

Oh, and a coupon for a free pizza.

That's nice and all, but the important thing is, did you throw any water bottles at them? ;)
I think Mark recommends doing that.

I have the bottles sitting in the snow. I can throw them farther when they're frozen. :)

If you are any good at converting these prospects into clients this should pan out just fine for you. What part of IN are you located?

Greenwood, just south of Indy. Yeah converting prospects into sales is the whole idea. Plus getting my name/face out there. Worst case scenario I can use the cards for referrals or with other prospecting ideas.
