So I decided to go out and do the discount card fundraiser Mark has on rosenthal files.com. I am doing this for my church's youth group first. I wanted to start with elementary schools, but given the recent headlines walking into schools unannounced didnt seem wise. So this way at least when I get to the schools I will have a finished product to show them and I will have the cards to use to prospect with. I plan on giving them out while I do the survey jmatos came up with.
Results:
Knocked around 35-40 biz doors.
Spoke to 10 decision makers.
Signed up 4 biz for discount card.
1 appt set for tmw. Hair salon was with client but was all about it.
1 appt set for Mon. Par 3 golf course, batting cages etc. He too was all about it, just wanted to think about what to put on it.
1 store mgr gave me owners personal email said he would definitely be interested.
3-4 good call backs.
4 biz let me leave my biz card holder w/cards. Not all the same ones I signed up.
And 1 life insurance prospect.
So sometimes I forget I'm out there to prospect, but I try to non-chalantly transition from fundraiser to prospecter, and any advice on this would be much appreciated. But my one prospect wanted quotes for herself and her boyfriend. Going in next week to give quotes.
Thoughts:
Hardest part was actually finding businesses where I didn't have to speak to a corporate office. Most owners or managers, that could make this decision, signed up.
Corporate America has taken over small businesses.
Except for Vietnamese people. They seem to not like free advertising or the language barrier is getting in the way.
