Medicare Supplement/Gap Vs Final Expense

When cross selling FE to Med Sup clients I absolutely agree your persistency will be higher. My original comment was geared towards FE only.

I sell FE and Med Sups from FE leads. My persistency is usually VERY high with any home I put a Med Sup in.

Yesterday I ran direct mail leads with incomes 0-$40,000. I sold 4-FE policies (I know, bad day) and 2-Med Sups.

Both Med Sups came from the FE leads but only one of them bought an FE policy.

Both Med Sups were low income people who already had Med Sups and I just beat the rate. The one that took the FE and Med Sup was on LIS and has her part B paid for. Doesn't want Med Advantage. Both policies will be solid.

I know all the gurus say you can't sell Med Sups consistently from FE leads. But I always have. I'm not sure it's worth it to FE superstars because it definitely slows your day down. But I have a huge base of persistent business from it. I'm comfortable enough to work slow.

And don't tell anyone but I presented to a one legged yesterday too and closed that one. Once I'm in a home I don't care. I'm going for it.

Can you get a one legger immediate coverage?

I can truthfully say that my Med Supp and FE business stayed on the books and my persistency was over 90%. That's because I did Med Supps and cross sold FE. If you are mainly doing FE leads then your FE persistency is going to be a lot less.

I do not find this to be true in my case. I'm a one trick pony and put laser intense focus on final expense ONLY. My persistency with Trinity is 95% as of 3 days ago and that was the carrier I placed the majority of my business with so far this year.

I believe if you do things correctly through the entire process sales process, your persistency should never be a problem.

I've sold a couple one leggers too. Let us know 12 months from now how that worked out.

I would guess that we all have sold a one legger or two in our careers but to base your business on that would be foolish.

I don't sell any of them now because I won't present to one leggers now. Had one Tues that the wife had to leave just as I was getting there. I gave them my card and said we would reschedule.

The ones I sold were CBs.
