Monday Is Door-to-Door Day!

Mah

Super Genius
Yep. I will report the results. I'm putting together my data. I left my JOB (just over broke) to become the best insurance woman in the industry. History in the making.

What I need from you;

How do I get leads from election cards and how do I obtain them?

What pick up line would you suggest for FE to get in and close with selling MA as well? How do I offer freebies (living will, discount card or other freebies)

Suggested FE and MA webinars and websites.

Ps. Scheduled to get a call from Shannon Davey on Monday. Excited!

You rock and your advice is welcomed and appreciated. It has to be qualified as advice by me. I notice ppl just say stuff and they claim to give "advice" you know who you are ....

Damsel-awaits

Since you're in California you need to be aware

CMS prohibits any type of cold contacting for selling MA/MADP/PDP plans. It is illegal.

It is also illegal in California to solicit the sale of a MA plan by leading with another product (Medigap, life, etc).

California requires that any contact you initiate with anyone 65+ you MUST provide a 24-hour advance written notice of appointment for the prospect to sign 24 hours before you are allowed to discuss any life or annuity products (including FE) with them. The only exception is for funeral plans.

Are you serious about this? I mean, I know you can't door-knock for MA, but I was going to use FE as a get me in tool.

FE and any life product except funeral plans are subject to the CA law requiring 24-hour written notice (it's basically a Scope of Appointment) signed by the prospect outlining exactly what you are going to be discussing. Carriers should provide a copy of the notice to agents for agent use prior to the meeting with the senior. Applies to anyone 65 or older in CA.

Here are the CA links, only pre-need funeral policies are exempt.

CALIFORNIA SENATE BILL 620 GUIDELINES
California has enacted a broad new set of requirements, most of which are effective January 1, 2004, that will impact life, annuity, long term care, and/or disability product advertising, sales or lead generation geared to seniors, age 60 or 65 and older, depending upon the specific activity.

SALES PRESENTATIONS
Any person who meets with a senior in the senior's home, including an agent, broker, producer, or representative who offers life insurance or annuities for sale (long term care and disability insurance are exempt from this part), or generates leads for sale to senior insureds (aged 65 and older) or prospective insureds in the senior's home, must follow the requirements outlined below.
Requirements Before the Visit:
· You must deliver a company-approved notice, or one that is "substantially similar," in writing to the senior no less than 24 hours prior to the initial meeting in the senior's home. California mandates that the entire form be in 14-point font. It is the agent's responsibility to use either a company-approved notice or one which is "substantially similar" to that required by California law. Please be aware that if agents use a company name or product on this disclosure form, the
entire form must be reviewed and approved as advertising by the Company's home office prior to use.
· If the senior has an existing business relationship with an insurance agent and requests a meeting with the agent in his or her home the same day, the notice shall be delivered to the senior prior to the meeting.

It's been the law in CA since 2004
