Monumental Life

EFES and SECURUS are thugs?

Yeah I think EFES is claiming Crips & Securus is claiming Bloods....let the drive bys begin!!

If someone is getting 50% less commish for EFES/Securus leads & training then I would go independent too. My estimation is EFES/Securus (inc. their managers) makes only about 5-10pts on top guys like JD, and at most 15-20 on beginners depending on your manager. I could be way off, but I dont think so.

We seen the pauljets before. Joins the forum and right off the bat knows it all. First two posts are negative, bashing, name calling and idiotic. Anyone that can make a general statement telling others what they should do based solely on whats right for them is egotistical and idiotic.

Yea and all the big producers at EFES and Securus don't know what they are doing. Someone who joins this forum a month ago knows better then all. haha

First post ever...I am considering contracting w/ Monumental Life.. Does anyone have experience as a Career Agent vs. Independent Producer with their company, please share.

Secondly, how do obtain your final expense leads or how does one obtain final expense leads through Monumental and any details on their lead program would be helpful as well.

Thank you in advance!

I did indeed work for Monumental Life as a Career Agent for a few months in beautiful Charleston, South Carolina in 2006. In my experience, it wasn't a horrible gig. The main issues were this:

1) You have a debit route. You spend time collecting money and getting people to reinstate. I worked a very poor section of town and carrying around a grand sometimes made me very nervous. Also chasing down policy-holders really eats your time.

2) They want you to do 5 "Insurance evaluations" a week. Basically, it's an opportunity to sell to your book.

Again, it's not a "horrible" gig. It's not something I'm really a fan of doing because I can put my clients on auto-debit and provide service without having to chance them down every month. If you want a "salary", it's a good place.

Perhaps thugs is a little harsh. How about scumbags? You like that one better? Taking upwards of 50% of your commissions is downright robbery. Final expense life is NOT rocket science. It's hard work and you need to stay focused. Standing up in front of 20 other agents on a Monday morning and telling your experiences for the prior week is humiliating and moronic. Just like the meetings. Would you prefer 50% or 110% commissions? No brainer and no meetings. LOL

I think this is harsh. There is no one that is getting 50% commission.

There are different Managers at Securus and different career paths, one for those who just want to sell, and another for those who want to build a business i.e. down line. It is up to you to decide. The commission levels are different depending on which path you choose. Also your level goes up as you produce.

As for the meetings, this also depends on the manager, some have them some don't. If you are new to the industry, I think it is wise to have some accountability, training that includes ride along etc.

Once you are successful, then choose your direction whether to be associated with an IMO ( and discounted leads) or not.

There are managers who are wildly successful at Securus and EFES, to learn from them I think is worth it. If you are the type "A" personality who can just read, get leads and reproduce the success selling F.E. or any insurance, go for it. Most people are not wired that way (IMHO).

I know lots of sales people in many industries including medical sales that are now independent… but they did not start that way, they learned the business by working for a large company, then went out on their own.

No I don't recruit or have a down line, I just sell and the training, leads and support have worked well for me

Monumental Life recently merged with Transamerica. Now you have a combination of one of the better Final Expense products with some of the best term and UL products. If you contract with TransamericaAgencyNetwork.com you will be licensed to sell all products from both companies at top commission rates.

To each his own, but I would disagree that trans or Monumental are that great.

Especially from a career side. The rates are higher that the captive agents sell than the independent rates. At least on the Monumental they are. I haven't run across a Trans that was sold by a captive.

You are way off on what EFES makes. Their contracts are in the 140 to 150% range.

You are right, no one is getting a 50% commission.

I had a Securus manager that I met with offer me a 55% contract. Unique Underwriters offers agents at a 55% level. Both managers talked nothing about personal production but recruiting, recruiting, and recruiting.

Drink the koolaid and dance to the raw raw parties. Won't do you a whole lot of good for the pocket book once the lead balances and chargebacks start hitting.

What could a personal producer like u get going 100% independent JD? Im curious cause I believe you're at 100/120 with EFES? And what could a beg get going 100% independent? Of course its on avg, cause some carriers will give u slightly more/less...but Im curious.

I'm very much a beginner and I decided to go independent and have mostly 115 contracts with one 120 and one 110... Promises to go up to 120 depending on production.

I was also offered 55 at securus before I knew any better, and 70 at efes. They sounded like really good offers until i found this message board lol
