I have been doing term with Transamerica, but can also write for Monumental. I have not yet done any final expense. A women came to me that wanted a term policy, but I am sure she will not qualify. Would she qualify for a Monumental final expense plan?
Female non-smoker, 48, 5'8", 285 lbs., type II non-insulin diabetic, only other medication is an antidpressant.

Yes. she would get the standard rate tho. Probably are better options our there for her because AntiDepressants are not a big deal in Final Exp. But I understand the convenience since you're already contracted.

Why standard? That looks like preferrd to me. he said "non insulin".

She would get preferred although there are still cheaper carriers out there for her.

The last question on the app says if under the age of 50, has the proposed insured received treatment for clinical depression.

Because of the Anit-Depressant this may fall in this category. I could be wrong on this though.

First off, why pronounce her inelligible for fully u/w term life? Based on the above she should fall into a Tbl D to F unless other medical issues surfaced in an APS. As e'g', for a 20 yr term 100K face, she would be looking at rates of 52 mo for Tble D to maybe 65 mo on Tble F, for 20 yr gauranteed rates. (Based on Protective Life rates and Ht Wt cht - Prudential is a good place to look for high BMI as well). These folks are great for conversions too, so if you approached this I would make certain that you placed her on a plan that allowed for liberal conversions and conversion of less than the full face amt, if possible.

If the above u/w failed, you can always fall back to FE. Also, antidepressant med does not meet the definition of clinical depression, so the question on a FE app would not be yes just because she is on paxil or other treatment for depression. See the def for Clinical Depression here.

Thank you for clarifying this. I feel like the whole world takes an anti-depressant. I've often thought that this question would rule out a lot of people if their under age 50.
