More big carrier news coming

Just got this on Cigna. I'm beginning to see a pattern.

Cigna

Cigna PPO plans: CT, GA, NJ & NY
No commissions on new sales on or after 11/4/24, no matter the enrollment period or enrollment method

Renewals on the current BoB & New Sales prior to 11/4 will continue to be paid
As of 11/4 the plans will be suppressed on both SunFire & Connecture

Cigna PPO plans: ALL Other States

Will REMAIN commissionable, but as of 11/4 the plans will be suppressed on both SunFire & Connecture
What does this mean? "Will REMAIN commissionable, but as of 11/4 the plans will be suppressed on both SunFire & Connecture". Does that mean you have to use the Cigna enroll?

Not sure but seems that way.

Also got one about Wellcare (Whoopi) that said the same thing.

I contacted my area Aetna rep. He said the coasts have been hit pretty hard from people over using the plans.
Does this mean Insurance Carriers designed MAPD plans that were not meant to be used in order to get government cash, and are now caught with their pants down when people actually want to use the plans to get healthcare?

That makes no sense. If no one’s using the plans where do they get the cash? The cash comes from having members enrolled in the plan.

Cigna already pulled all of their PPOs in Florida for 2025. If you didn't already know, PPOs are the plans that are having a tough time being profitable
