Well here is a new one... my client has a mutual (OICH) plan F. She calls into to Mutual of Omaha service a few days ago, thinking she has a plan G, and asks to change to the Plan F. They look her record up, and proceed to sell her a Plan F, to take effect 12/01/24.

I get the notification yesterday, call her, I assure her she already has a Plan F. She confidently tells me no, she has a plan G. She is wrong.

Anyhow, I call Mutual to see what's up, and confirm I am the AOR. They tell me this is considered an internal conversion, even thought there is no affiliate change. It's OICH to OICH. Literally the same plan, but with a new policy number.

Im transferred to mutual commissions, and they just say oh, well this new policy is direct to consumer, so there is no agent of record. They say I am not the agent of record on the new policy, because it's direct to consumer, even though it is an internal conversion. He wants to transfer me to another area.... this is AEP... who has time for the hot potato game with service?

Has Mutual found a way to cut field agents out of the AOR ?

End of rant for now. Ill deal with this another time
