Mutual's Living Promise and Foresters Plan Right

I love MoO where I'm at. The Living Promise FE is very competitive... The brand recognition is great as well. Only people that have any complaints for the Medsupps seem to be the ones that have N plans that took a moderate increase years ago.

Moderate increase years ago?

First, Plan N isn't even in existence three years yet so the first increase would have been less than two years ago. Increases since then vary by state, but my MoO clients got hit with a 24% increase 11/2011 and another 40% increase 11/2012. That can't be moderate by any definition of that word. So other than the increase not be singular, not imposed years ago, and not modest, you're spot on.

When one is drinking the MoO koolaid they can justify just about anything.

Check your elementary school books Jr., plan N came into the picture in June of 2010.

Hey Sherlock, that won't be 3 years of existence until next month. And since they guarantee the rate for one year the earliest rate increases for plan N would have been 1 year and 11 months ago.

Them dang facts get in the way of good ole smackdown.

I'm a new agent and still learning everything, and so far I've worked with Americo, MoO, RNA, UHL and AG... while knowing a little about Am Am and Forester's too.

That said, I've written a few Living Promise policies now in Florida and like them quite a bit, along with Royal Neighbors as my other FE company. The rates are better than RNA in some cases, and RNA beats them in others. Their underwriting is great so far, and this weekend I'm actually going to re-write an app with MoO since RNA won't take my 77F due to meds (nitro, in this case), but MoO seems ok with them. I wrote an 82-yr old insulin-using diabetic last month, and it breezed through. Last week I issued a 66M smoker. Although I haven't done a larger policy with them yet, the policy face amounts are great compared to RNA's -- MoO offers up to $40k level death benefit or $20k graded, versus RNA $25k level, $10k graded. I believe Forester's tops out at $35k. As for issue age, Living Promise is available five years earlier and five year later than RNA's SIWL, and there's no phone call for MoO (I know some will prefer this while others don't. I think there's a situation for both cases).

Anyway, that's how these new eyes see it.
