dadkins...why would you get defensive because someone give you their opinion? If you don't get criticism, how are you going to improve your site?

Agreed. The "masterpiece" line is inappropriate.

Dadkins, I think courtesy week is in effect and you have violated it. Ther moderator will bust your a$$! Also, I would be leery of any website where there is no contact information with a physical address. Just sayin'.:skeptical:

Some of the Best Coding and Loading Times I have seen, are sites built by Val. He truly understands the importance of Great Website coding.

I just noticed this post. Thanks for public mention.

Website loading time is indeed an important part of overall website optimization, and it received more value during the Google Caffeine update and its true effects came to light on the Mayday update. That's the reason I place more emphasis on quicker pageloads. Although it still is not the most important factor, its still a strong signal that is sent to Google when they calculate the value of your site/pages..

But the reason of CSS validation errors, is that the site in question is using advanced CSS3 properties which should probably help in the long term regarding validation specifics. The W3C validator is still using the industry standard CSS 2.1 and not CSS3 as this site.

While I don't encourage using Joomla, that site looks nice on the eye, it's pretty straightforward, although it still needs some work here and there. One example, some links are dead.

Off to watch the Germany - Aussies match.

Val.

Pingdom Tools

that is the link I use to measure speed and yours is actually slow. joomla has plugins for caching which you can use to cut the load time significantly.
otherwise the site is pretty attractive. I saw a load time of almost 12 seconds for all page elements.

Just a comment: Unless a page is painfully slow to load I see zero relevance in a page's loading time. Google's "job" is to show me the most relevant pages according to my search.

If a certain site is indeed the most relevant I frankly don't care how fast it loads. I'd hate for it to be placed below a less relevant but faster site.

I don't know how much weight site speed is given, but again - unless it's painfully slow it should be near zero.
