My personal experience with Aflac

Re: Here's my situation. Is AFLAC right for me?

B Ray -
I'm in Dardanelle, about an hour and a half north of you. I visit Hot Springs quite a bit.

Thanks everyone for all your input. I've decided this isn't my calling at this time. I think I may wait until I'm teaching again and then try it full heartedly during a summer break. If I can make it work, I'll stick with it. If not, I'll just resume teaching and be none the worse for wear. Thanks for the advice all!

Re: Working for Aflac?

My boss hates Aflac. Half of the people in my pre-licensing courses were from Aflac so their recruiting must be pretty good if nothing else.... Oh yeah our instructor was cracking jokes on the duck until he found out how many people were from Aflac:laugh:

Re: Working for Aflac?

I read pretty much this whole thread and only skimmed through the bickering.

So far, from the gist of this thread, I'm getting that Aflac seems a little better than most of the "will hire anyone" places because of their name recognition. Also I am getting that their policies are the best in the business for what they are.

Is the beginning commission negotiable with Aflac or the same for all newbies? Someone posted a while back that they changed his commission from 40 something percent to 50 something percent- remember that?

Re: Working for Aflac?

I wouldn't say their policies are the best in the business. Colonial has some top products that gives the duck a run for the money.

Re: Working with AFLAC for now

I read on some other Aflac post here that they have the cheapest E&O ins.

I'm planning to interview with AFLAC. Any advice for me? The agent I spoke with told me that she made $50,000 her first year. Is that unrealistic?

Oh also, I read that they make you buy a $2000. laptop. Is that true?

As a new associate you have a choice of the standard rate or accelerated rate. With the accelerated rate you get a little bigger commission but you loose some on your renewals. You can change back to the standard rate when you want to. I believe the accelerated rate only last a year or two. You also have the option when writing business to take advanced or as earned commissions. Each product has its own commission level they range from around 53% and less.

Re: Working for Aflac?

Captive???? not at all.. Hartford, ING, Alllianz & AFLAC are the main insruance compaines I write for. I am licensed in tha State of Florida, 215 Life Health & Annuity, also series 7 & 66 license's.

How exactly did you pass the Series 7, when you don't even know 3rd grade grammar (it's "licenses," not "license's") and can't spell the word "insurance?"

Did you know that lying about being an SEC general rep when in fact you are not is a crime? :)

Re: Working with AFLAC for now

I dont know. Do a search on AFLAC here. I wouldnt go start with them. To tell the truth, I've seen some of their products and I like them. I think they have their place. But I would not sell AFLAC exclusively.
