My personal experience with Aflac

Re: Going with AFLAC?

Ya we did Dave, I intitally asked about AFLAC in this thread and got steered back to the companies I was first interested in, so That makes my ind up for me. I dont know why I was asking about AFLAC, just new and curious

Re: Going with AFLAC?

Aflac is a GREAT company to have as an employee and payor of benefits. I was working on a job that formerly had Colonial and switched to Aflac. After having a motorcycle accident while with Colonial, I had a constant struggle getting claim paperwork filed-I could not reach "our" Colonial group agent to assist. It was unbearable, especially since I was trying to recover physically. However, when the Aflac reps came to the job, I was one of the people that raised my hand when asked if anyone had been involved in an accident of any sort within the past year. I explained that I was still waiting on some of the claims to be paid and my family was still trying to pick up the pieces financially from that. The rep explained, using "Monopoly money" how much I would have received if I had Aflac for each surgery, time spent in the hospital, etc. and how I would have received the money within one week, each week, along with a lump sum, I was floored. My family and I would have received well over 10k. At that time, I had only been paid $1100 from Colonial and was having to threaten litigation to get more. However, after the company signed up with Aflac and I signed for coverage during annual enrollment, the Aflac agent called me and asked about receiving my policies and helped me get "back pay" for monies that Colonial refused to pay/cover. My check was over 5k from Aflac from my past surgeries. For this reason, I absolutely believe that AFLAC is a GREAT choice to go with as a company. I read an article in the Atlanta Journal about Aflac that they are the ONLY supplemental insurance company with a weekly, monthly, and annual GOAL to pay a certain amount of money in claims-Totally unlike the other company whom was seeking a "GOAL" of not paying claims. WOW!

Re: Going with AFLAC?

I have never seen anyone experienced in this business use the words 'AFLAC' and 'Great Company' in the same sentence. ;)

Aflac Complaints - NOT PAYING/ INCOMPETENCE

Aflac

NOT PAYING/ INCOMPETENCE
I have had a heart attack and severe stroke. I have tried to collect on my AFLAC insurance policy for almost 2 months. All I keep getting is the run around. Like they need additional information all the time and keep putting this claim off. Even the hospital said there is not anymore medical records to be sent. They have sent AFLAC everything they possibly could. The stress from having to deal with AFLAC I believe the stress from dealing with AFLAC is gonna throw me into another possible heart attack or stroke. The whole reasoning behind me getting AFLAC was for exactly this reason that I should be covered. Now they are not wanting to pay out and I am endanger of loosing my home and vehicle that I have worked for my entire life which is very stressful to me. IT IS SIMPLY THEY DO NOT WANT TO PAY!

My3cents.com - Aflac Complaint - Claims Ripoff, Claims

Anyone who says that Aflac is a great company, is totally clueless, or has never filed a claim with Aflac.

Aflac is a rip off, plain and simple.

I had an accident, I filed my claim. Aflac lost my fax, lost the mailed copy, etc, etc. When they finally acknowledged receipt of the claim, they would scan in the claim form only, and not the back up, the operative report, etc.

This was a way for them to drag the claim out, make it hard on the customer, in the hopes that the customer would just give up. Basically the run around.

I have been paying Aflac premiums for 10 years, and never filed a claim, I wish I had, then I would have stopped wasting my money. I don't know about anyone else, but, for me and my family, I am going to work really hard, and encourage my husbands co-workers to stop using Aflac and stop wasting money. Each person pays about $140 monthly, $1600 annually, on an average. That money could be used for something worth while.

As for their customer service; all I can say, is "what customer service"? I was shipped around from person to person, lied to, yelled at, hung up on, you name it, it happened. I even had my husband talk to someone at Aflac, to take me out of the loop. He spoke to a "supervisor". Her name was m. Love. He said she was sighing the entire time he was talking, as if what he was saying was not important, and that he was bothering her.

Now I have cancer, and I have to have a craniotomy. I absolutely know without a doubt, Aflac will not be there for us. We have chosen to cancel our policy.....At this dire time. Saving the money for my family, instead of stressing them out with claims that will never be paid, is worth more to us. I feel we have one here, simply because, they won't be taking our money and laughing at us behind closed doors, at what idiots we were for continuing to pay them...

I beg everyone, stop the premiums...Save yourselves....Save money.....Stop using Aflac.

Okay, but we have to listen to the original poster and not just project our thoughts out there based on what makes us feel warm and fuzzy. He said that a good base salary was going to be crucial for him. Aflac does not have that.

Aflac Question

Hey guys, one of my agents asked me a question about aflac, that I have no idea on. They would like to know that if they have an independent agent/broker contract with Aflac, and they go write up some family members on an individual basis not payroll deduction, will this agent get a commission for writing up family members? Some companies do not pay for writing up family members.

Re: Aflac Question

You get commissions for writing up yourself so I would guess you get them for writing individuals. The first business they have you write is yourself so you can get a taste of money.

Re: Aflac Question

why would he want aflac.......

You would get paid on but I have to agree with this post.

The only policy that I see is good is the cancer policy.

They do have a life insurance product that does not have any real underwriting it very expensive.
