My personal experience with Aflac

Re: Aflac Question

Had a sign up for a 41 man group last week.....it was my church and they called me in to see how much money they could save by dropping off the national church plan..they also had dental and vision....wanted to know if I had something on a voluntary basis and said they had a church member that did the flac that could do these....so I said I would be more than happy let them have it ..so last week we were collecting app's and answering last min. questions....and about 1/2 of them asked how come you guys are not doing the d/v because they all said the aflac deal was not a good deal.....one reason....yea like I am going to pay for it first and file the claim....

Re: Aflac Question

You would get paid on but I have to agree with this post.

The only policy that I see is good is the cancer policy.

They do have a life insurance product that does not have any real underwriting it very expensive.

everyone around my area has the aflac accident plan

Re: My personal experience with Aflac.

I was the plan administator for a company where we had AFLAC and Colonial. After two lousy years I gave AFLAC the boot and put in Colonial. After 10 years with Colonial we never had ONE problem with claims or service. The duck is a joke!

Truth about aflac

I know this is going to be a "spirited" debate, but here goes.

A close friend just started selling it in Cali.

Here is the way it works.

Lots of training, annoyingly so. She wants to sell, but she's stuck in school 4 hours a week for 5 weeks, plus multiple day's the first week. Plus mandantory time with her Disctrict.

Easy to sell, once you get past the gatekeeper, and if your not the 4th person there that week. There are no lists of companies who already have it, so you also hear about that during your cold calls.

You need money in the bank before you start, enough for three to six months.

Commission is pretty good. you make between 30-42% of Annual Premium the first year, 3.5% stock on month 13 of the AP, and around 5-8% AP from then on.

They avance ~2/3 of the commission within 2-3 days of getting the contract, with the rest divided over 12 months.

She didn't pay for anything, just sales school and business cards, and some thank you cards. Plus gas, clothes, tires, shoes, pens, and so on.

The laptop is expensive, but free if you write policies as they give you a credit toward the monthly cost. They also give you a pretty decent laptop. She has a toughbook with a 3 year warranty.

It is a pyramid scheme like all insurance is, move up and make more money. The first level mgr makes a pretty decent chunk of her AP, so does the second level and the state.

Lots of pressure to produce, but she has sold around 10k in AP just a month and a half and gotten about 2500 in the bank. It also took her a few weeks to get all the liscense stuff done.

Each person who gets the cancer policy will put about 160 bucks into the bank two days later.

She is the reason I want to get into insurance myself, and focus mainly on the hispanic market. Where I live, not many people do that.

Re: My personal experience with Aflac.

I sold AFLAC for two years, part-time, back in the 90's when I was getting started. At the time I was building up my individual and group health business. However, I was a good enroller and the district managers always needed help from someone who could close. If your a good closer, its to the district managers advantage to split business with you, but you have to take the time to get to know them. It's been a long time since those days, but I thought I'd pass it along.

Re: me....ebatko....and the AFLAC duck.....

Have your friend send you one of the BIG ducks ( 3 foot )

AFLAC vision is a joke look at cost vs benefits, unless you have eye disease, then your not eligible,
The Dental if you have a family of six or more it is a good deal, for less than that you are trading dollars. look at the waiting periods, see what the cost vs eligible.
been with them six years, but there accident and other polices are great

Most of that is correct, they pay you per application credit towards your computer, the tough book is great but over 3K and at $3.25 per application that is allot of applications to pay off your laptop, then after a few years they retire your laptop, you will need a new one 5 to 7 years I have a CF 48 i use for e-mail now pd 3K for it, replaced it with a tough book another 3K
AFLAC is a very difficult career to start, but can be a career with luck and iron skin.

If you are having problems with claims call you agent! Or someone in your area to help you.
I am an agent with the company six years,I file my clients claims for them. I have over 70 personal payroll accounts and have never had a claim rejected. The key is sending the right paperwork.
Not to go into their polices, but you may not have had the right one. the PRP oh SHE are very specific in what they pay.
The Cancer policy is great.
There accident policy I have filed claims for poison ive , swimmers itch, and bug bites they have all been paid.
So get a new agent. One that Cares

Aflac Questions!

Can anyone give me a quick rundown on AFLAC? What products do they offer? Just general info to see what I'm up against.
Thanks!
