National States Insurance

I'd rather be a CSA, than sell Gerber...just another MOO shell game product. Having over 3,000 Med supp clients on a trusted plan helps me sleep. CSA only adds to my learning and experience over 30 years. I do not use CSA to my clients disadvantage.
It is funny how people in this biz say things like "they have the cheapest rates", or "they are $150 cheaper per year". Med supp is not a sprint, it's a marathon.
You have to ask....what were you selling 5-10 years ago, I what happened...did they pull out of the state, or did they fade away?

Guys...I just had an agent friend get a letter from National States last week that they have suspended all life sales as of Feb 1st I beleive. You may want to check this out but he also said they had a horrible 4th quarter earnings report and trouble is lurking.

Any agent that is selling National States or has been selling for them is a complete fool. No legit upstanding agent in their right mind would steer a client to a company with a "C" rating. Dead man walking!:1frown:

I might agree with you there Yoda...I dropped by their headquarters a couple of weeks ago as the guy you have to talk to is worse at getting back to people than I am and it was kind of a scary looking place. Maybe a better word was spartan. The looks of the place and the lack of responsiveness leads me to believe they are on the way out.

AGREE!!! Has anyone said seize and de-list? :1mad:

I called over there today and they answered on the first ring. UW answered on about the third ring. They do their own underwriting. They don't ship it out to moo....

I may just sign up with them.

No agent in his right mind if he had a right mind would put his client in a company that has a C- rating did I say that yet. Don't make this job any tougher then it has to be. If AM Best is telling you to run for your life then you better run for your life. You do know what AM Best is dont you? You do know what the next step down from a C- could be dont you? You do know how bad that would suck explaining to your clients how you as an insurance professional recommended they take out a policy with a company that ended up in receivership? Trust me that would suck real bad! :1eek:
