When I first started, you are thinking exactly what I thought too. I thought I absolutely had to have a separate carrier for every possible scenario I could ever come across. I asked my upline and he recommended I have 3-5 MAX! He said learn 1-2 carriers like the back of your hand, then slowly add more as needed. So what did this rookie do...I got contracted with about 11 carriers. Foolish!! Wanna guess how many of those carriers I use now? 3 main 2 safety nets. I made the mistake of writing a lot of Lafayette as my first carrier...thinking price is the only thing that matters. Again, stupid rookie thinking. Price is not it...trust me. I think I wrote 5 LL policies...only 2 got approved. Haven't written a single app since. I think I have like 2 apps in a box in the trunk now. I started regularly writing Oxford, American Memorial, TransAmerica, Aetna, Gerber. I got rid of Gerber and use SNL now. I don't write a lot of AmMemorial anymore either. All the carriers on Newby's list are what I have. RNA got a facelift and I'm starting to look at that one a lot more now. I highly recommend you listen to what your upline tells you...and follow their advice. I also recommend you practice writing apps on yourself. Call the carriers UW dept and ask them lots and lots of questions about health UW. That's what I did. I'm still learning, but getting closer to the top of the curve than I was before. Really grateful for the guys and gals on here who gave me good advice.
