Need advice on appointment setting

Thank You all for your advice.

I am 29 and don't have any kids and no spouse.
Hence why I can run like hell lol, I think i will have to stay small for now and continue to set my own appts.
I really do like running appts instead of calling and doing pending biz.
I use a really generic script to set the appts, no mention of any insurance at all.
I find that you can run 8-12 appts per day pretty easy if set in a close distance.on the hour with an hour window.

There's a point in time that makes your calling unproductive. I did the numbers once & found that within 10 dials there was a 80% chance of getting a hold of the lead. But then in between 10-35 dials there was a 5% chance of getting a hold of the lead. If you're only buying 20 leads...10 dials on 20 leads is only 200 dials which can be done in a day.

I would reccomend you either buy more leads or start door knocking them after 10 dials each.

Here's what you need to do:

1) Call Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:30AM to 12PM, and 5PM to 9PM.

2) Buy 100 Leads Weekly.

3) Have 3+ different phone numbers available.

4) Call through the leads 5 to 10 times each call block, rotating numbers as necessary.

5) Set 12 to 15 appointments each day on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, 45 minutes apart.

6) Success.
 
I consider telemarketing and phone skills in general to be a dying art. When I started out in sales there was no DNC, everyone had a home phone and there were no overseas telemarketers. My hometown had dozens of companies operating huge phone rooms that hired kids right out of high school. It was how you learned sales. Now can run an ad for telemarketers and get not one applicant.
 
It's definitely hard to find a good setter. And when someone finds one, they are not usually interested in sharing.
 
Have you tried a 50/50 approach... Just thinking here, not actual experience.

Find a single parent (someone who wants extra cash) run them Sat. plus 1 to 2 evenings a week on the phone. Pay them flat and then pay a bonus on sales. Then you pick up and run similar to Rearden's model.

The key would be education on the part of your caller. Make sure they fully understand how the bonus works and what that could mean to them. You will need to train them so they can find some passion in you winning, and understanding how that translates into them winning.

I have seen some hard working single mom's that would put most of us to shame... with some good training and vision I think you could turn it into a win win.

Either way... you got the sauce if you get just 1/2 of what your looking for. You go man.

I think I read you are 29? You need to readjust your priorities. You should be out enjoying life, chasing girls or guys, what ever your preference. Working those hours you will look like a whipped puppy at 30.

Both Spur City and Agentguy5 work like that and just look at them. They both look like they are 45+, when in fact they are both 25!

Slow down and "smell the coffee"!

I think I read you are 29? You need to readjust your priorities. You should be out enjoying life, chasing girls or guys, what ever your preference. Working those hours you will look like a whipped puppy at 30.

Both Spur City and Agentguy5 work like that and just look at them. They both look like they are 45+, when in fact they are both 25!

Definitely agree with what Rearden said. Having a local number is important because everyone seems to have caller ID these days. It's not as easy as it was in the past. I noticed a dramatic change in how many people would answer when I called...right around election time (Summer/Fall) in 2016 I noticed a major drop-off of people answering phones. Our demographic gets hammered with calls all day long from offshore BPO's (Middle East & Asia). This is starting to have a general effect on how many people are answering the phones. Clients tell me all the time that they don't answer the phone unless they have the contact person programmed into their phone. I get lots of people who never answer...ever. Set those leads aside, and go door knock them on a day/time that most people are home (Saturdays are great for that).
