Need Some Help Please!

liberty mutual is captive here. But apparently Progressive has made the move from the non-standard list to the standard... because they are starting to lose their edge on the "challenged drivers" I have been beating them with Unitrin and Victoria like crazy lately

You mentioned "Victoria" I may need to look into them.. I'm starting to get a bit tired of Progressive's 10% and having to compete with the direct arm of their company.. along with the inability to just xfer someone from direct to an agent policy.

Is Victoria comparable to Mendota for the REALLY non-standard stuff, or more in line with the 2 -6 pt drivers?

It is pretty difficult to get approved by Preferred carriers now without being part of a cluster.

Actually, in recent conversations with some carrier reps, this may be going full circle. They still do the cluster thing, but seem to be more open to appointing agents directly again.

Of course, this may be just my area, I have no idea if this is true overall.

In my area (washington state) they don't want to give appointments to anyone :swoon:

I just applied for an appointment with Victoria, is it difficult to get appointed with them?:1smile:

Should I apply for an appointment with Unitrin even though I already applied (and got denied) by Kemper? They're the same company right?

Unitrin owns Kemper, but they are seperate companies.

Unitrin only goes auto and commercial auto

Kemper is a preferred auto home, umbrella company, fairly strict U/W.

I have had a couple of reps in my area tell me they wont put any new agencies on unless they are part of a cluster....

I applied to both just now, hopefully it's different over here :1err: Based on your experience is Victoria easier to get appointed with than Unitrin?

I would say Victoria is sub-standard and will appoint anyone.
