New Agent - How screwed am I?

As far my insurance career, I am a big fan of the book entitled "the go giver", by Bob Burg and John D. Mann, so I believe, first and foremost that my job as an insurance agent is to provide as much value and solve as many problems as possible and the income will take care of itself.

My ideal day will be getting in front of as many prospects as possible with very little admin or "busy" work.

Great book!

Tell them to kick rocks on that agreement - will never be enforced. Especially in FL, which is a "Right To Work" state . . .

If you need training, I can't help you.

If you already know how to sell - I can get you 125% contracts. 130% to 140% with proven production.
There you go...recruiting in lavender again Tom!!!!:arghh::twitchy:

I wonder, does Tom use crayons on his talking pad?

And if you do Tom, does it work better than just plain black ink? :wideeyed:

Well, this same thing just happened to me. I signed a contract with them. I am not licensed yet and I am not using their codes to aquire my license. I was in the process of obtaining it. I read through the contract but I guess not well enough. After doing some research on the company, I quickly realized this is not what I want to do. I am in a panic thinking I can't do anything else now once I aquire my license. I am completely new to all insurance and feel like I was preyed upon by this company. I should of known. I don't want to be sued because I go to another company. I have received no leads, not provided them with my license because I don't have it yet, and have filled in no other paperwork. Am I in trouble here?

I have emailed Equis saying I want to cancel my contract that I just signed today. I am calling them tomorrow. Total newbie here.

Just don't submit contracting with the insurance companies you should be fine. That agreement's teeth is when it comes to your book of business and using their leads. They're not going to waste their time on someone who never even picked up carriers.
