New Agent trying to find an Agency that wont lie

40-50k base plus commission w/ 32k base is completely reasonable.

The rest is on you.

I'm not trying to knock you, but you're not going to make a ton as an insurance employee because you cost more to maintain.

You might get a lowly base salary, but you get what you allow yourself to get paid.

If you go independent, you make more money.. but you're responsible for everything.. so you need money.

For example, I don't do leads. All of my marketing is directly into building prospects from day 1 that contact me. I pay a lot more for my prospects than most, but I own more of my time and cost if acquisition is lower.

You are so new, you dont know anything. I have over 10 years of experience and have mostly given up on the industry after a pandemic separation and agents lying to me in the same manner. 1 offered 15-25 an hour and I negotiated a higher base with lower commissions and she asked me to start that day. I went home to change clothes and she called and withdrew the offer. She was an Allstate Agent and a real piece if work
I've been in sales for 20 years. 10 in advertising, and 10 as an insurance broker.

I'll tell you a story that's even colder. I read that post, and I don't doubt it.

I interviewed in a suit and lived 10 minutes away. She asked me to help move office furniture and equipment in her office to set it differently than the agent she bought the business from. It would have taken 30-45 minutes round trip to change clothes. She called and told me to hold off on returning to her office until she called back but had already appointed me to her agency. 2 days later I had to call to find out she couldn't keep her offer and would not bring me on.
