Obama Wins!! What Next?

The market didn't much like the speeches, apparently.

I thought Rev. Lowery chastising White people for not doing enough for Red, Yellow, Black and Brown people was interesting. Nothing like having the whole thing thrown back in your face if you supported Obama and being told, basically, it is not enough.

The American people have, slowly but surely, been convinced of the following:

1. It is the responsibility of a bunch of politicians and the federal bureaucracy to make us all "happy", to make us all "equal" and "even", and to remove risk from our lives. Risk is just too, you know, risky.

2. Personal responsibility, hard work, sacrifice and discipline are clear signs of greed and can no longer be promoted as positive things.

3. Anyone who has more than me doesn't deserve it, they had it given to them or cheated to get it. They therefore must be punished. If I have less than you, if you're stronger than I am, then I'm right and you're wrong.

4. If something is "too hard", it is our responsibility to immediately lower standards so that people don't have to put out so much effort. After all, feelings and self-esteem trump achievement at all costs. It's much better to make things easier than to risk hurt feelings due to failure.

The above philosophy has been slowly woven into our society over the last two or three decades, and it's not going anywhere any time soon. It's obviously an easy sell. "You're a victim, we're here to save you."

And we've been sold.

Very much agreed.

I'd be interested in everyone's opinion of how we got to this point, tracking back to the influences, occurrences, people, or whatever that caused such a shift in values. Where will we go from here?

This is the consequence of prosperity. When the majority no longer struggles or has to fight for freedom they misinterpret the meaning of freedom as no consequences" and then they take it for granted.

these people

Want vaccines to treat preventable disease so they dont have to change their behaviors

They want to eat whatever they like and never gain a pound as they age

The want the government to bail them out of their stupidity and lack of awareness.

The is the era of the nanny state where people can have their cake and eat it too albeit with 90% confiscatory taxation.

This thread should be mandatory reading for all liberals. They really just don't seem to get it that life is not all butterflies and puppy dog tails.

I caught that preacher slamming on white people too. I wonder why the media didn't pick up on that?

Lets see, if we had Chuck Norris for President, Joe Arpaio (sp?) as attorney general, we would need to get Ted Nugent in there somewhere wouldn't we?

I think the market flops every time Obama speaks. I have been watching this for a while.

D@ng STI... You just whipped that out of your sock... that is impressive... and the Nine bucks included parking too.

Sweet.

I actually played pool with Ted in about 1989 in Texas. In my other life I was a touring sound engineer for about 20 years. Ted is the MAN!
