Obamacare Glitch Could Make Coverage Unaffordable For Low-Wage Workers

The gov't says there is 0-1% inflation, so don't expect a big bump up in FPL levels next year. I wish I was experiencing those low inflation rates.

all I did was put on one page what you can find on the internet on 2 pages.

In compliance with the Paperwork Reduction Act. Good for you.

Bill, govt inflation is a lie.

Doesn't include the price of food or gasoline.

Of course if you never buy either then 1% inflation works for you.

So this morning had a conversation with a very large franchisee of a national ff chain that I write individual plans on their employee's. She is telling me that she sits on the national insurance committee with this company based out of Il, with BCBSIL and 5 other insurer's and that if she offer's affordable coverage not above 9.5% and any employee does not want it that they certainly can get a subsidy on the exchange and there is absolutely no penalty to her. They have also been more proactive than most insurance companies and have put out a book to all operator's explaining this.

Well I am either senile or fall asleep during the seminar's and webinars, but I understand that if that employee is offered coverage at 9.5% or less of their income they cannot get a subsidy and if the employee purchases on open market the employer will receive a $3000 fine for that employee.

Is it me or her? If it's me then I have set in two webinar's this week that are wrong.

If she offers affordable MEC coverage, she won't have any penalties.....period. If employee offered this coverage, they are NOT eligible for a subsidy. But they can buy a non subsidized plan if they wish.
