Online FE Leads!

Great TD! I am barely being set- up with the carriers but will be at the 2/28 training. Seems like I won't be able to hit the field til Mid March because I just found out I will be having back surgery right after training :( I'm ANXIOUS to get going with EFES and I just recruited a Telemarketer that worked with me previously. She will be calling on lead lists to set- up appointments for my wholesale side through EFES.

Feel free to email me at [email protected] I don't come here often :) BEST of luck!;)

I didnt see u at the training in Anaheim, were u there?? And I never heard back from u (via email) on the telemarketer u have!!

I have an agent that sells a lot of FE over the phone using internet leads. He tells me that half the time it is adult children shopping for FE for their parents. I dont know his ratios or where he gets them, but he has been using those leads for as long as a year now. I would have to conclude that they work.

Matts right- don't burn any time or money on internet leads especially for FE

While it is true if the poster follows this advice, they will not waste any $$$ on FE leads, but they will also not sell any FE either...

From my experience of ins phone sales, I've worked mostly impaired risk leads, and have successfully sold some decent FE cases; (decent... meaning 25K face, prems in excess of 100 mo - most of these folks were looking for larger face amounts of ins really). While working impaired risk leads you aren't able to insert age filters so they are not solely FE leads either... but my point is, I do not agree with your advice that interent leads (for FE) are a waste of time.

It is also surprising how many senior citizens have computers these days... and they have become accustomed to using the puter to shop for commodities and ins is not any different for them... in an increasing fashion. During AEP I got many internet leads for folks shopping for MAPD and PDP's, and successfully converted a respectable % of those leads. So you can't generalize and rule out that internet leads are a bust for FE, IMHO. Like any other marketing effort they have their ups and downs.

I am 67 and most of my friends are in the 65 to 75 range. A good 80% of them use computers, buy and sell on eBay, have Facebook accounts, etc don't know why they wouldn't try to find insurance information in the privacy and convenience of their home.

Some of them would, but that is not the demographic of the FE market. Those people are not in the 1% of respondents to FE mailers. Those people are not on line. Many don't even have a phone.

I think more and more older people will get with the times and start using the same things us younger people are using.

Your statement is correct, based on how you define the FE mkt. However, there is a whole other demographic that is 60+ and shopping for life ins... would love to buy 100K-250K face amount, but may not qualify... (amybe have had a recent health scare or retirement and grp ins is gone) but can/may be issued a FE product. But what is more common is that these folks settle on 25-30K and call it a day. Still a nice premium... (1000 - 1500 AP +/-). In fact it was rare to ever get that 50 per mo FE applicant.

The described clientele above is what you are more likely to bump into with an internet lead. Not what jdeasy describes as "his FE mkt". Certainly a higher income demographic on avg with the typical internet lead, speaking specifically for age 60+ now, as compared to the return mail lead card.

I ain't talking about "my" FE market. I'm talking about THE FE market.

Now, for people that dablle in FE those leads would be fine and I'm sure there is business there. You are not going to do $2500 to $4000 ap every week in FE from leads like that. If you could agents would be doing it.

That tends to be my senior clients. It is them that ask me if I have face book. I got a scanned copy of a void check from a couple I wrote. Last week. Both in their late 60s and still working. They were not a DM or Internet lead though.
