O'Reilly Backs Public Option

Re: O'Reilley Backs Public Option

I think the conversation here mushes public option and co-ops together a bit but whatever. Same idea. The co-op is the public option with the dial turned down a couple notches which you can just turn up along the way and come out the same.

O'Reilly backs government health insurance option - Daily Kos TV (beta)

Great.
Another talking head with NO idea what it is talking about.
Another flame fanning media monger.
All they do is keep the fires burning, keep people p*ssed off enough to keep tuning in and keep up their ratings.
Such B.S. If he stated that the government should keep out, which everyone in this country knows who is not retarded, then he would not be "continuing the dialogue," (i.e.) annoying people.
O'Reilly and his people could give a dog's d*ck one way or the other.

Re: O'Reilley Backs Public Option

Billy O has been riding the fence on health care reform.

If his guest is a staunch supporter for the public option he will undermine their argument and vice-versa if guest is against it.

Re: O'Reilley Backs Public Option

OK, but aren't all of you guys pretty much the same? Do any of you really care if there is a public option or co-ops? Be honest. All you neo-cons really care about is your income... your six-figure commissions.

What if there is a public option, say even a one-payor system... BUT it PAYS you guys a 20% commission to "enroll" people (similar to MA and Supp.) Wouldn't you all be jumping up and down in support? Wouldn't you love the pubic option? You don't seem to mind MA all that much (except for CMS's sales regs... but that is a different issue.)

Come ON, you guys. You're right-wing conservatives. You don't (and really shouldn't) care about anything but your own pocket book. Free market? Capitalism? My ass. Follow the money!

How about this. What if the new plan leaves the carriers in place but prohibits agents from collecting a commission... or prohibits agents altogether.... people will check a box on their tax forms each year or go to the SS office to sign up for carrier X or carrier Y, etc. You guys would STILL be yelling and screaming in outrage!

So please. Don't be knocking Mr. O'Reilley here for caring about his ratings (which by the way I agree with ins.dave on) because the billions of electrons used on this board and in this particular sub-forum is all about YOUR "ratings" so to speak.

It's the money. Be honest, neos. It's the money. You guys could care less if we have private carriers, a government plan, or a hybrid. It's all about your commission. You know it, I know it, and everyone's Mega hating dog knows it.

And you know something? I'm OK with that... just be honest about it.

What happens if single payor is a complete and total failure? Where do I turn? Where is the competition? Do I just give up and die? Wait for a new administration? What happens to us rural folks who no longer have doctors in our hometowns because the scheduled payments for the single-payor system are less than it costs to actually deliver care? Ask a doctor that accepts Medicare if those reimbursements pay the bills? I mean ultimately the left-wing whacko enviromentlists would love it if we all died. They're certainly trying to kill off the farmers in California in favor of a minnow. That way the bison could have the land back and the grizzlies could move out of the mountains, right?

I suppose Obama and Pelosi would live a lot like Kim Jon-Il does in North Korea. They'd drive Ferrari's and live in massive estates with olympic sized swimming pools and personal golf courses. A few of us could live with them to serve as their slaves and entertainment.

The western US could be a giant hunting preserve. Maybe we could even import some lions and wildabeasts and other animals.

That's what the left-wing whackos want, right?

We really need to get you your own radio show.
I know, think of it? "Uncle Al. Antagonist. Scab picker."

Gee whiz …11 years and a good bit invested … guilty as charged. Yes, on behalf of everyone here I think I can say we have a right to be concerned and a little annoyed when our government tries to step in to put us out of business AND make matters worse for everyone.

How come you have yet to acknowledge my earlier statement about how my wife and I have a $7000 H.S.A plan and that I am HAPPY to be paying my premium in exchange for the security and quality of our coverage over what would have been "provided" to us via a public plan?

Answer the question or concede the point?

How can I state this if this issue is ONLY about our "6 figure commissions?"
You can't and therefore you won't.

Like the disgruntled housewife that you are you'll just deviate and find a new scab to pick at.

Sounds good. I'm in! LOL.

It is about money Al, debt & deficits plus exorbitant taxes for years to come. You want that? Why? How about we exhaust every effort to reduce costs and allow access without government involvement to fix 15% of the population's issues. The other 85% like their coverage but hate the cost. There's several solutions but Pelosi is deaf, and dumb. Public option public option is all she barks. So closed minded she won't even consider alternatives. That pretty elitist and arrogant. She's worse than Tippy ever was as House leader.

Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, the government gets involved with and tries to predict costs on, you might as well multiple that number by 10. FACT!!!

Prove me wrong. Name a government policy/law/legislation that saves money.

Re: O'Reilley Backs Public Option

Al
What will happen with any Gov type option is most people will go onto it. The small groups under 50 lives will drop employer sponsored coverage because the employee will have a gov option that is cheaper than the private sector.

See Al what you don't understand is the power of network discounts. Any Gov. option is going to have a network discount 15-25% lower than a PPO network. This is going to have a huge impact on rates and a private carrier will not be able to compete. If you deal with any national networks and compare those discounts to rented networks the national have deeper discounts.

So with a Gov option it would put most of the health carriers out of business. Then we would only be left with say 3-4 national carrier for the entire country. If this happens we lose competition. I was witness to the big mergers of health carriers and have seen the effect of a reductions of competition.

At that point only the wealthy companies and Individuals would be able to afford health insurance.

So it would put us all out of business and the quality of health care would go down the tubes.

I have first hand experience at how band socialized medicine is. Socialized health care kills people and gives no incentives to develop new health care technologies.

If we have a Gov. option then within 20 years we will have a true socialized medicine that will bankrupt this country.

A Gov. back health insurance plan destroys our industry.

Just out of curiosity, what country with socialized medicine is more bankrupt than we are already?
