Part D Sales on Med Supps

Hey, that sounds just like what has happened to the health insurance agents. Did you know something 24 years ago nobody else did? :twitchy:

Pretty soon you will be able to say that with Medicare prospects and clients. Good thing you have the right attitude. Let's just hope your attitude pays the bills. Doesn't seem to be working for the health agents.

Well OB....I didn't say I adhered to those principals. I just said I had it pinned to my office wall.......just in case I ever get religion.

OK......well it's ok to get religious every once in a while just don't go missionary.

I'm OK with helping with part D. My last client doesn't know how to work a computer (he says he does). He also gets very frustrated. I don't mind doing his part D. I would like to get paid though to do it or refer it to someone else who is capable of helping him and folks like him. If there is a way to refer and get paid I want to know that too. Chazm told me how to do that.

I am newer in the MedSup business-enjoying it. Why do agents here run away from the Part D sale? I realize that the real $ is in the Sup sale, Part D sale commissions are peanuts and a more complicated decision based on meds, etc. BUT...
1. I'll make a nice commission on my total Part D sales
2. Here in PA, AARP seems to run head and shoulders better than other Part D Plans. For the Part D component, I pull out their Medicare and You, review the different plans and their ratings, show that AARP is one of only two five star plans, don't profess to be an expert on Part D, etc.
3. Keeps competition away and client expects that both Sup and Rx are taken care of.
Again, I haven't had issues with Part D- YET!

100% accurate, BUT there is no way for you to carry ALL of the available PDP plans available and I guarantee you don't sell the one that is best for all. An agent can go in behind you and show your client that you didn't do what is in their best interest, and take you client.

With that said, you can give up the 28.00 commission, go to medicare.gov website and enroll them "free of charge" and they will stay your client for a long time because you did what's best for them, at no charge.

Are you still subject to all the govt penalties and BS even if you don't earn a commission?

My guess is you are.

Well I guess the argument could be made that it is impossible to carry and know ALL of the available life insurance plans, health plans, medicare plans, disability plans, annuities, ect. ect. Geeze what about those captive agents, their business must be being replaced all of the time which makes me wonder how a girlfriend of mine affords those two Mercedes working for NWM. HUMMM

Maybe, just maybe, the best thing for an agent to do since one can't carry ALL of EVERY product, is to sit down with a prospect and find out what is best and let them call an agent who is going to sell them something.

I'm sorry but I'll take my chances in some cases and place the PDP. If I've done my job right and continue to do it right whether I sell a PDP or not or whatever product, I will rarely be replaced.

For agents who have a hard time holding on to their book, I suggest you do whatever makes you feel warm and fuzzy.
