Paying Telemarketers

I prefer different types of marketing then telemarketing. But if you are looking for cold calling expect your typical 1%. Google luck.

I hire a company that does all of the telemarketing for me, then "warm transfers" the callers over to me instantly. Works pretty well for auto. Personally, I would not want to hire an in-house telemarketer.

My last Telemarketer was a liar..he only made calls when I was in the office...once I left he would go outside and make personal calls and go to the bathroom for a long time..

He was a property inspector for ins companies on the side...he would get calls on my time and pretend its a lead for me.:goofy:

Thats why you need an activity monitor. Odesk has a great desktop monitor, monitors key strokes, mouse use and screenshots. Best management tool ever!!

ewilkins,
I've hired alot of tm in my time and just my two cents:

-hourly rate.
-then require X number of leads/appts per hour after grace period (1-2 weeks).
-incentive-base bonus for anything over base leads per hour.
-X dollars for an appt, X dollars for an app, etc.

Tier-based incentives are a great way to keep people from dialing for dollars. Just my two cents... I think the most important thing is that a dialer be simple, easy-to-use and inexpensive. A lot of dialers have too many features and that can confuse people, but each dialer has a niche and there is plenty of business out there for everyone. Different strokes for different folks.

This is for all of you experts.

-What do feel is a fair hourly rate?
-What number of leads/appts per hour do you set for your TM?
-Do you consider giving incentive-base bonus for anything over base leads that you set per hour, and if so what is the incentive?
-Do you consider giving dollars for an appt ? What about dollars for an app? I understand dollars for an appt, however tying it to a sale on non-licensed TM can spell trouble in my eyes. How does the forum feel abput this?

Thanks in advance to all the replies!

I think it differs for everybody and their sales process... you're going to have to try it a couple of different ways.

If you are targeting commercial accounts - we have a month to month plan that can send you on the appt before you pay-

so obviously the appointments must be solid or you dont pay- let me know if you want to talk about it
