PCIP.gov - Strange Application Wording

Any state that agreed to set up a 3 yr plan is nuts. They should have let the feds run it. Now when the state runs out of money the feds have sent to pre-fund this what happens? Do they just tell the people sorry?

There is no sane reason for any state to follow DC down this path to stupidity. All 57 states should have hung the feds out to dry.

Maine is running its own program through the Dirigo agency....But this is what I don't get...We are GI so no one has been declined for coverage or has a ridered condition.....Does this mean they can just sink this money into the same hole as Dirigo.

I was wondering the same thing about NY/NJ/MA.

ME,NY,NJ,MA are just getting extra cash from the Bank of Obama. Doesn't change anything. Only where the money comes from.

Here in Illinois, the state has chosen to set up it's own government subsidized plan. They won't even begin taking applications until late August.. at the earliest. I wonder what the motivation is for a State to do what the FEDS have offered to do? A power/control thing? Stupid decision for Illinois considering that this State has a huge budget deficit already.

Allen, you know as well as I do as an IL resident that the State (as run by Chicago) would like nothing more than to become a communist utopia. The big problem with this is the rest of the state.

Once you get past the Berwyn/Cicero area to the west, the Mt. Prospect area to the NE, the Evanston/Skokie/Niles area to the north, and the Joliet area to the south, every other area in IL is full of conservatives. It's truly a situation where the tail is wagging the dog.

If, and it's a big IF, we can get a Republican Senator, we might be able to see some balance in the State. It would be nice to see equal representation based on the true demographics of the State rather than just how Chicago feels.

But if Obama pointed out a system that works almost flawlessly (like MD) there's no brownie points for him.

Nothing will change until the consumers perspective changes...I was on another forum and the person was lamenting on the high cost of Health Insurance and they said take Asthma you go to the Dr blow in a tube and get a perscription....My response included costs for medications for HBP, Chol, Diabetes....and reminded her that insurance is to transfer unforseen expensive risks...thats why your Homeowners policy won't pay to repaint your house every couple of years and Car Insurance doesn't cover oil changes and tire replacement.
