Prospect's wife has been kicking the can since August on whether he should enroll in a Supp & PDP or a MAPD for 12/1.
He has enough of an expensive drug to last through December. He's taking an expensive drug that he's receiving help for from a foundation, that will end once he enrolls in Medicare. Doesn't qualify for our state's SPAP or Extra Help. Of course I suggested applying for manufacturer's help months ago but they've been so "busy" and he also just applied for VA coverage a week ago, although I recommended this months ago.
That being said, if he chooses a standalone PDP I can enroll him in Wellcare for December if I remove the drug from the equation. He also has a cardiogist appointment mid next month that will determine if he needs to stay on it.
My question is, what's the deadline to change his PDP for 1/1/25? Is it 12/7 (AEP), or is there another election code I can use by12/31, as he's new to Medicare for 12/1, but is using that ekection code? I know with MAPD you may change plans within the first three months, but not sure about a PDP. There's no FEMA SEP available here.
