Persistency

How is the persistancy for FE plans for first year if you are a good agent? My persistency in other markets always has been excellent.

Don

If your persistency with FE is only 70% you must be doing a lot of cold-calling or door knocking. Mine has been around 90%.

Now watch somebody call up and cancel a FE plan on me today.

Thanks guys,

Russ, I plan to do some door knocking (when the weather is warmer, Pa is cold this time of year). The door knocking I plan to do is around whereaver my appointments fall. Any suggestions from anyone. Truthfully, being an older agent, I may not do any, sounds like a good idea though, don't you think?<lol>
On staying in touch with clients, Mark how do you do it. I think I remember someone in another thread said about sending email newsletter. If that is so, any suggestions on website for setting that up? I've used email extensively in mi market, but never sent out newsletter. Most clients in that age group do have email.
However, I am not expecting in FE to have many email, some will I know. So what is the contact then, just a phone call every 6 months?
Jim, I hope to be good, for I have in other markets, however; I am sure there will be a learning curve.
Thanks all

One way is to send them a birthday card each year and follow it up with a phone call to see if they got your card.
While you have them on the phone, ask them if they need to make any kind of changes to their policy. Like a beneficiary change. Did they just get married/remarried, have a baby, buy a new home or new business. Things like that. Just remind that of who you are and that you care about them.

This not only helps with lapses, but you will end up with some new business and some referrals.
