There are successful Agents and successful salesmen. Not necessarily the same thing.

While being good at sales is part of being a good agent, being a good agent is not necessary to be a good salesman.

Example. A person can be a jerk and succeed as a salesman. Sell them and never see them again. A jerk would have a harder time being an agent.

maybe not a trait, but you need great listening skills....you need to be able to hear what your clients say and don't say in order to be effective.

Or you can use the old outdated word we don't use it much anymore....."trustworthy"

two or three personality traits = (from many customers opinions) liar, unlikable, pushy.

From an agents angle I personally like: candid (characterized by openness and sincerity; unreservedly straightforward). It's not used much in conversation but without a candid approach there can be misunderstandings between the agent and customer.
