Production !!!!

I think he has a realistic goal. The most I have ever written in one year is 193k. I feel that I could have done better but I wasn't willing to put in the time. This guy can do it if he works 24/7.

The IMO I work for has 4,000 producing agents and 25 can produce at that level. The #1 agent had 380k for 2012.

If I'm not mistaken JD writes on average 20k a month. That's 240k a year. That means he has the same goals as the thread starter. So why are his goals so shocking. He just wants to be among the best in the market.

At 2500 a week part time I say your the cream of the crop. Reach for the stars!! The sky is the limit!! You can meet those goals..

That's not my goal. My goal is $3000 ap per week. I just happen to run over my goal because I have to take more leads by contract than I need to make my goal. And I don't average $20,000/mo. I average $19,000/mo.

Even with your figures only 1% of agents are hitting that level.

I never said it couldn't be done. I said, and still say, that's it's not a reasonable goal. Just because someone does $2500/week does not mean that turning on the spigot and getting more leads will bump up the production.

Then the other side is the backend work. When will you scrub the apps, send them to the companies, follow up and service issues? If doorknocking I don't suppose he would have to set aside time to set appointments but there is still more to this job than just being out there sriting. So, do you hire someone to do all that stuff?

If so that kinda defeats the purpose of writing more business.

JD, you are still the only agent on here that speaks truth and reality of this business. I would say if it wasn't for you and a couple others on here the forum would go down hill.

It is very realistic goal of doing 3k a week and what every agent should try to do. It is the consistency of working the leads and closing sales, the numbers will take care of themselves. 1k a day is not a realistic goal.

John, just curious...does this usually end up being about 5 cases at $600 per?

Not really, it's all over the place. Last week I wrote $5000 ap on 2 applications.Sometimes I've written 10 or 11 apps to get to $3500 ap.

My average premium for 2012 was up a bit to $69/mo. For 2011 it was 57/mo. Can't really explain the jump of $12. I didn't even realize it was that much until went and looked so that I could answer your question.

I've been over my goal of $3000 per week for over 4 years now. Maybe I should up my goal?

JD I'm confused!! .. Now you know I have that nasty little reading comprehension problem so don't get mad...

He has the goal of writing $100 4 to 5 times a week. that comes out to about 19k to 24k a month. That's his goal.

How can this be an unreasonable goal when you accomplish this every month??!!

He ask this question here because he thought someone on this forum reaches these goals. He is right!! You do!! He wants your advice.

Instead of telling him it is unreasonable to reach your level of production couldn't you help him!! Instead of telling him it is unreasonable to to be in the top 1% shouldn't you show him how you did this. Tell him exactly what it takes.

That's the whole purpose of this forum. To get advice from the top "gurus" in the final expense market. So agents can learn how to increase their business to your levels.

Or do I have it all wrong?

I think you have it wrong. he is asking if doing $250,000 to $300,000/yr in ap is a reasonable goal. Not if it can be done.

Of course it can be done because some agents do it. That would put an agent in the top 1% of FE producers.

I have never done $250,000 in ap in FE. I've been over that in MP.

So my opinion is that it is not reasonalbe to set a goal that put one in the top 1% of producers.

Of course I am not a marketer and and not conditioned to blow smoke on a regular basis.

You're gonna need a secretary to write that much- there's just too much back office BS you gotta deal with- bounced checks, you gotta track down that cust because its a big chargeback coming your way, company drafted early and customers pissed and leaves you a message, that crazy lady that calls you everyday asking the same damn question, 3 policies with amendments and you cant get ahold of the cust... company sends e-mail, cant contact cust for a POS (Hello Monumental) you got call backs set for that week, setting appts-..... much more goes on then just signing your name and collecting a voided check
