Progressive Rates

$500k with them here in CO for that program... I just talked to my buddy who has a large agency..

Different strokes for different folks. I STILL don't like to do business with them. UNITRIN has strong rates in CO and has been pounding them pretty well...

In Arizona they have the Signature Agent and Preferred Partner Programs. Signature Agent was displayed on the last page and pays 15/12 with a minimum "preferred" production and a $2,000 annual marketing budget.
Preferred Partner in Arizona requires 400 auto policies which is around a 500K book. Commission's start at 13/12 and go up as your policy amount goes up. You also receive ability to write annual policies, earn a contingency, and receive other marketing advantages.
For those who don't already have Progressive's Umbrella product or Home Advantage these programs would also qualify you.

Same deal in Utah, been writting a ton of auto through Unitrin for ex-progressive clients...

In Florida, besides having high rates, Progressive will also take clients away from you. For example, if you (through your agency) writes a client through Progressive and the client later calls Progressive for any reason, they will your client a 5% discount for firing you (the agent) and going direct!

A couple of agents I know personally have told me this recently as that is what their clients were told by Progressives csrs. So yeah, beware of Flo!

Maybe if they would fire Flo and that messenger guy they could afford to pay their agents 15%.

I had my picture taken with Flo..It is on my facebook.

I love Flo.

I blame the agents. Because they made it where the company didnt need the agent.

They wanted a website that would do all the work for them and as soon as the company made one, they didnt need the agent anymore..

Their website is very good, with the hints/tips and quoting, i do admit it is good.

But their rates are so horrendous, i cant even give that price to the prospect or i'll just get yelled at.

Just like the last quote for a 1996 corolla bought it for 4k and the rate was 3k for 6 months lol. no points/violations, has prior continuous insurance, etc... a preferred driver.

Anyways i wrote him with another carrier, but progressive told me to quote them first or they will call and annoying me for not quoting X amt per month.

Their PIP premiums here are so bad.

I'm only kidding Mark. I got no beef w/Flo.

you're right about not needing the agent. the ironic part is that Progressive's own agent training material mentions a survey in which the majority of those polled said that they prefer having an agent vs. dealing directly with a company. maybe that's why they keep us around?

I think the real disconnect with Progressive and their agents (besides commissions) has to do with homeowners and the signature agent program.. it's a catch 22.

in order to become a signature agent, an agent has to average selling one preferred auto customer a week for 6 months.

to be a "preferred" customer, one has to own a home, have a clean driving record, and have prior insurance. Progressive only lets their best selling agencies sell homeowners. For all other agencies that do not sell homeowners through Progressive, acquiring preferred market customers becomes a serious challenge. Because most people who fit that "preferred" criteria is going to want to bundle everything, including homeowners! thus the catch 22.

I think progressive update their rates, im getting competitive rates now which is odd because its 4-5x less than what they usually quote. lol

I don't believe this:
