recording calls and saving them

I'm sure the recordings police would come to find a deleted recording of a call. What if I wrote own what was said verbatim from memory does that make me a felon in MI also

You're not a felon until you're found guilty of a felony.

If you're going to be smug, at least be accurate in your argument.

I outlined an instance where the Op, who wants to.use it for an application fill out, could use it in the event of an E&O claim/being sued.. Only to be hit with a felony for recording without getting permission..

Notice the "do you?" That means I literally give two shits what you do.

You've been in a call center, so someone has taken care of the legality for you all this time.

When YOU'RE the boss that falls on you.

Ray and Louis both gave a great go around that require almost no effort and make sure you (general you) don't get in any hot water... You (specific you) can take it or leave it..

Good luck to you in the future, DHurd. I don't have the patience to deal with your slack-jawed shennanigans.

let me rephrase... I will be calling clients that have already submitted info to me.. and review some of the questions i asked them...

Arizona is a one party consent state for the recording of conversations. It's legal for you to tape a conversation to which you are a party, i.e: with your customer.

The risk is that the customer finds out, gets pissed, and takes his/her business elsewhere.

Best to ask for consent. But that's up to you.

Tennessee is also a one party state. However, if you are talking to someone in another state, then that state's law might apply so you would have to know the law in each jurisdiction in which you do business.

Everyone is used to being told that professional/business calls are being recorded these days, so why not just state the call is being recorded to assure accuracy? Takes 2 seconds and protects you from any repercussions in the future.

I'm not even being personal. I just find it ridiculous. I know you dont make the laws!

You're not a felon until you're found guilty of a felony.

So, your not a murderer until the jury says so... or you don't molest children until the judge says you do... or your not lying to your wife until she can prove it?

Hmm... well I guess I never speed until a get a ticket, and the money I stole from you doesn't make me a thief until you can prove I did it.

A lot of people who found the DNC ridiculous have paid a high price for violating it.

How true.

thanks for the reply... If using ring central. that announces the conversation is being recorded.... thinking I might say something.. like,.. we are gonna record this conversation because...xxxxxx,,etc.. that ok? great.. and ,move on

Don't ask for permission.. Just let the system make the announcement and keep moving.. If they truly object, they will let you know but you don't want to put something in their mind that might not already be there..

Exactly what I do.

I just keep it natural..."ok, let's get this application done *press button/announcement* so what's your home address?"
