Recruiting

I think one of the main problems with recruiting is that many agents do not really know what it takes to be successful. Agents fail at writing, so they think they can build instead. Most agents that fail in the field, fail because of bad work ethic. I had a guy tell me that he wanted to start building so he could have more time off and spend more time with his family. That is the absolute opposite of what building is. In December, I had over 80 hours of TALK TIME on my phone. That is not counting emails/texts/face to face training/building cheat sheets/etc.

If you want to build a team so you can work less, find something else to do. If you are willing to work MORE to have the lifestyle you want for your family, then building might be a fit.

Also, most people that build are not being trained how to properly do it. I will probably talk to 15+ new recruits TODAY alone and I will turn down 12-13 of them. If you want to just get agents CONTRACTED, you could get 100+ per month. That will do nothing but cause you a ton of work and no real money. You have to have a system that gets you on the phone with enough people per day so you can pick the people that are the right fit.

They have to be coachable, have work ethic and be able to manage their money. If they are 54 years old and do not have enough money to buy leads, they have a MONEY problem. Contracting them and getting them to work "free" leads or anything else will NOT fix their problem. That would be like saying the secret to help someone end a crack addiction is buy giving them more crack!

If you work hard and find the RIGHT agents, you can make a lot of money. Making 6 figures per month is very doable if you are willing to put the time in and have the right system behind you.

F2F presentation is 5 to 10 mins, the application process takes 15 to 30 (if doing Aptical or some other phone verification).

With telesales the presentation is 30 to 50 mins and then 15 to 30 to do Aptical. (Generally the presentation is 20 to 30 mins and you get into the application) The big difference is in telesales you would work 5 days a week making 3 to 5 presentations a day vs f2f agents work 2 to 3 days in the field making 3 to 5 presentations per day. Telesales is 6 hours on the phone, f2f is 6 to 8 hours but a big portion of that is driving. I am not saying telesales is better I actually think they are about the same in the amount of sales made per week.

Those f2f agents working only 2 to 3 days in the field have chosen to only work so many days in the field. They could work more if they chose to.

6 hours on the phone 5 days per week is the very reason why it takes a special person to work the phones. Most people wouldn't even entertain pounding the phones like that. I know many f2f agents still spend time on the phone, but it's not day in and day out.

I know that's right! So many think that IMO's just sit back and rake in the money "off the backs of their agents". If they only knew what it really takes to make it as an IMO (or even a local agency), most would never even begin to entertain the thought of recruiting.

Yeah, yeah.. You are just saying that because you don't want others to know what a cushy gig it is and you don't want any more competition. ;)

I sincerely respect the ambition of those on here who are serious about building. But that's a lot of work and goes completely against the personality and motivations of those who seek this kind of work. You're now an upline? Well, welcome to your new desk in Corporate America!

Just get hooked up with Senior Life. Go build a Team and buy their TV Leads. It's that easy . . .
