Remote working perks

Lolz. I showed up at the crack of 11am. I sent a few emails, and filled out some forms. Now its 2pm and I'm going to go grocery shopping. Maybe I'll do some yoga after I get home with groceries. I feel bad for the staff that has to work all day. I mean, not bad enough that I'll actually do a full week of work, but you know, bad enough that it crosses my mind.

I often talk about how easy it is now, but dear god it was a horrific grind building up my book in the beginning.

Yeah, answered a couple emails and did a quote with my coffee till about 11, put on big boy jeans, then took my shred to ARC, stopped by my brother's then lunch until quitting time.

Not fooling anyone, not always like this.

Well, let's just say some of my midwestern relatives THINK they like Mexican Food, but their total experience is Taco John's.

Yeah I've spent a lot of time in Maryland over the last 2 years and they do not have any decent Mexican food. I have had great Salvadorian, Ethiopian, Cubano and Italian food and some great soul food but no good Mexican restaurants.

I'm sure someone somewhere exists, but have you ever met anyone that doesn't like Mexican food?
We eat Mexican at least once a week. I'll be at happy hour in a few hours doing just that.

We're hosting a party next week and we're serving tacos/guac/and quesadillas for the kids and all sorts of other stuff.

My wife asked: "what if someone doesn't like Mexican food".

My response: "then uninvite them because I don't trust people who don't like tacos."

They're legit all out here. CA, AZ, NV. That's it.

When you're in MD, head a little north into Jersey and you'll find some absolutely fantastic Italian food. Not to mention killer breakfast sandwiches and pizza.

Hey, man! I know some Texans that'll fight you on that! I grew up in SoCal and AZ. Great Mexican food in both. There are some fantastic Mexican restaurants here in TX, too, although it's a different style (just like CA and AZ have different styles). The big cities in Texas do it right, but when you get into the more rural towns, it's all ground beef and gooey cheese.

No shade was being thrown intentionally...

I have been all over Mexico and it's just hard to replicate what you get at some random little corner shop there vs in the states. Maybe it's the atmosphere/circumstances that makes them taste better?

I only mentioned those states because they seem the closest overall.

I have had awesome tacos in TX, they just didn't seem the same. Still really good, though.

Oh, and I put beans in my chili so take that!

I like beans in chili. I prefer a soupy chili opposed to a thick chili. Got to have some meat and spicy. we still talking chili?

Nothing like hitting a late night taco truck or trailer for a couple of street tacos.
