Repeal and Replace

Post above is confusing the preamble with the enumerated rigthts. Preamble is for what GOVT is seen to provide not rights.

I just love how people think the reason for the constitution as stated in the preamble gives the idiots in DC the right to do anything.

The preamble gives no rights. The Constitution was designed not to tell us what we can have, but to limit what the government can do to screw us.

I wish libtards would learn how it works. Oh yeah, and then teach the republitards.

Rick

The Constitution gives the Feds the right to spend money. The preamble talks about the things they should be spending money on. The states have the rights, and the obligations, to protect their citizens. I don't care if Florida decides to shelter it's homeless in an old prison and Wisconsin gives them all houses. I don't really care if a state decides to expand Medicaid or not, but if they don't, they have an obligation to make sure that those people affected by that decision can receive health care.

----------

The Constitution is almost 230 years old and somehow we managed to survive for most of those years without a govt handout.

I really don't think the framers of the Constitution envisioned a country where everyone whined about their situation and expected the govt to provide for their every need.

Are you just speaking of individual handouts or do you have an issue with the government subsidizing businesses as well?

I think I can speak for Somarco on this. There is nothing in the Constitution that allows the feds to pick winners and losers. So I know he's opposed to crony capitalism that gave us the bailouts, green energy company handouts and saving Chrysler for the benefit of unions.

And seriously, the preamble only explains why the Constitution was written. It gives the government no rights to do anything. Civics 101.

What's the difference?

I do realize there are some people who think that entrepreneurs that create a business will say "You didn't build that". And "It takes a village to ........."

I remember when Chrysler was about to go bankrupt and Lee Iacocca asked Congress for a loan.

Not a handout, a loan.

I thought he was nuts but he got the loan and paid it back before the due date.

I still don't agree with that move but it worked out.

I don't believe the taxpayer should have bailed out the banks even though the mortgage crisis was created by the govt. Don't believe the govt should have bailed out AIG, or funded "green" industries like Solyndra.

I don't think the govt should have screwed with health insurance, created a reinsurance program for the carriers and funded health care co-ops.

The less intervention from govt the more smoothly business and the economy will operate.

I don't really care if a state decides to expand Medicare or not,

I had no idea states could decide to expand Medicare. When did that happen?

I appreciate that point of view. As long as you feel the same way about the government subsidies no matter the size, I can respect it. I personally have the opposite view, but I just get frustrated at the people who think that one is better than the other.

Medicaid...I fixed it. Thanks.

I talked to a vet yesterday cancer. He is trying to save his life . He doesn't get insurance because of not enough income... VA wont pay for a pilot program that may save his life. What would you do?? Those greedy pigs in DC and Hospital CEO should be fired. And how many people like this are out there.
Guess what plenty! !!

We all die. Not saying it's his fault he got cancer, my wife got cancer at 29 and she doesn't smoke, drink or so drugs.

But for the folks that do?? Come on! They want me to pay for their lifestyle choices??? Give me a break.

You're not entitled to anything. (Except for Hell, but that's another discussion and the only problem solved that doesn't cost the tax payers any money.)

I just love standing in line to pick up a prescription that I had to pay $112 for. That's down from $230 (I found a coupon :) ). All the while, the lady next to me is complaining because they charged her $3 for her script. She was on Medicaid.

Walgreens had made a mistake though. They fixed it. She didn't have to pay anything.

Does nobody see the problem here? There is no "free" anything. The producers are paying for it.

He should buy a policy today and begin his potentially life-saving treatment, starting at 12:01am on March 1, 2015. This is just what people have asked for ever since I've been in the business! He's being offered this Obama Blessing and doesn't wish to avail himself of it?
:err:

You don't need to be a member of costco to get prescriptions there and good prices on them.. Just tell them at the door you're only going to the pharmacy and that's it.
