I understand Nov. 2nd or when people get letter. But instead of checking SEP. Can't you just check AEP and sell under that notion. Everybody has a AEP starting Oct. 1.

You guys never heard of the pre selling season that started Oct 1st???

We have been selling Coventry/Wellcare and checking AEP. Why wouldnt most people go this route instead of checking SEP and waiting till Nov. 2nd???

Yes AEP starts Nov. 15th but you can sell now!!! If you are not selling during pre selling then you are behind everyone else.

Give me your contact information and let's see what CMS says about that. This year CMS has said an applcation may not be taken under SEP until 11/2 even if the letter has been received. Makes no sense to me but you might want to confirm this with your carriers.

You can discuss the plans but you cannot sell. You cannot pick up an enrollment form and hold it.

There is no such thing as a pre-selling season. Perhaps you should explain yourself. If you are not understanding this, you can lose your license.

You can sell!! There is a pre selling period. We wrote 20 last week. We don't turn them in and the clients all have the apps. They will mail it in on Nov. 15th. We are not checking SEP on those replacements, we are checking AEP. We have only replaced 2 of them. But we checked AEP.

Just sent email to head guy for compliance from my company. He said YES you can pre sell Coventry/Wellcare using AEP with effective date of 1-1-10.

Just thought some of you that sell MA's could find this useful. You do not have to wait until Nov. 2nd to replace these with effective date of 1-1-10. Happy selling.

I believe CMS has changed their guidance to 11/2 from 10/1 by this is for the SEP. But you are doing this correctly by having the client mail the applications directly to the company on 11/15 using the AEP..

You may now keep your license for another year.

Contact one of your carriers and see if you can write an AEP today on Coventry/Wellcare people? I got $1000, your carrier says yes also.

Thank you for telling me I will keep my license for one more year. Been in senior market for almost 40 years, I think I may know what I am doing.

Doing it the way you are and leaving the application with the client to mail, it does not matter if they are losing a plan or not. An agent can present benefits now to anyone.

My response was due to you calling it "pre-selling season" and not initially pointing out that you do not take the application with you. There is not such time period as "pre-selling season" but I have known agents who use this term to not only sell, but to take and hold an application until 11/15.

Glad to hear that you're legit.

Rick

Where it makes a difference is with the effective date. If they want to be effective 1/1/10 you can use AEP. You can use the SEP for those whose plans pulled out if they want the new plan to be effective in Nov. or Dec.
