Have been reading many post on here talking about formal sales training. Just looking for some advice based on personal experience.

I am in New York about an hour from NYC. After spending some time looking the choices are unlimited. Maybe someone can guide which seminars or training to run away from. Not looking for a motivational speaker ya know?

Thanks in advance for your input.

What are you selling and how are you selling it?

You're needs for selling, say, life over the phone vs commercial P&C will be very different.

There are a lot of scam artists out there...as you probably know. There was "Marketing Guru/Superstar" that spoke at a local Chamber of Comm meeting that was signing up people for a special price of $2 Grand.....I worked with him 15 years ago and he got fired and has a history of being fired from every job he has had. He wouldn't come near my table.

Commercial p&C is our focus.
I was looking into the hartford school of insurance training.. but the price tag on that is $3,795. plus having to commute to hartford.. = not good.

Because of timing, I took The Hartford's P&C CSR class. It is the first 2 weeks of the 3 week Producer course.
The course was great for a new guy looking for product knowledge...and would probably be good for anyone who need to know or needs a brush up on the "nuts and bolts".The instructor,Bill Senecal was great.
Shoot me a pm or email and I will give you more details.

I believe in reading books. Go to your local bookstore; get the red sales book. It has helped many!!

Go through the training for National Income Life Insurance Company/American Income Life. Even if you only last 3 months, you'll probably be getting paid training. Just drink the kool-aid and you'll learn a ton!
