Senior Dental Plans ....

I have 2 on the books now, against my recommendation. I will let you know how the customer satisfaction goes. I would rather them spend their money on a cancer plan, life insurance or just put it in their account but people want what they want...

The best part about the against my recommendations, They dont complain as hard when the don't like the way it works

Tins, Cigna PPO is a pretty decent one in Missouri with no waiting periods for major services like crowns or dentures. It also has a $1,500/ yr max.

The words decent and dental do not belong in the same sentence. Every one of the dental plans has a gotcha. Most of the time the one that causes the most grief are the plans that pay a % of the claim.

Big print, 50% for major work (crowns, root canal, etc)

Small print, 50% of what WE think the charge should have been.

Here is a numbers game for you. If your home insurance cost what dental does.

Premium- $360
Potential claim max-$1000

Premium-$700
Potential claim max - $100000

So homeowners would cost $36000 a year if it were priced like dental.

I am sure that you see my thought process here. The numbers do not make sense and I won't sell it to you if you beg me. Call delta dental direct they will be happy to take your money.

The Cigna plan has a big network in this area so most of the time the allowed amount equals the billed amount. While I think dental isn't the smartest way to spend money, I find it encourages certain people to keep up with dental care since they are paying it already. It can also be a good source of referrals when a client can brag about getting a crown covered at 50% within a month of buying the policy.

Its a little different because the $360 pays for $300 of stuff you normally spend without insurance.

Homeowners should pay for leaf raking and grass cutting!

You could always get an affiliate account with someone like Dentalplans.com, then send them the link and tell them there are some options there. They're mostly savings plans and not insurance, but some people like those.

You will not get rich doing this btw.
