I took Series 6 and 63 back to back too. The following year I went back for my Series 26. I've been out of the securities biz since 2000 and have no plans of going back anytime soon, possibly never.

I studied for the Series 7 for about a week and a half 8 hours a day and passed with an 86. I took the Series 66 three days later (three days of cramming 8 hours a day) and passed with a 77.
I wouldn't have passed these exams in that amount of time without a solid study guide - I tried both ExamFX and TesTeachers.com, with me crediting the latter for helping me out. I highly recommend taking an in-person class or video course for the Series 7, it makes many of the concepts and options spreads/straddles much easier to retain and understand.

When preparing for my Series 7 exam I used iPhone Apps provided by Test Teachers, but I know that they also have study materials for Series 6 exam.
