Setting Appointments Over the Phone

FOR ME I get in more doors by doing the drive-bys which equates to better $$$...FOR ME my leads are maximized in this manner of doing business. As far as hours I don't really concentrate on that. I concentrate on making 1 sale a day. I live by the motto, "A SALE A DAY KEEPS THE BILL COLLECTORS AWAY".

Something for you to consider.....

Scenario A (drive bys)...you work 20 leads, make 5 sales, takes 43 hours.

Scenarion B (phone for appointments)...you work 20 leads, make 4 sales, takes 28 hours.

Now.....which scenario makes you the most profit in 2013?

Yeah, Springfield is a nice area. Where are you now? Atlanta?

I was born and raised in Texas! I received a full ride so I went out there to Missouri, but when I was done I came back to where the heart is, back in Texas.

I've never tried tele-sales. I'm sure you're GREAT at it and I don't doubt it. I won't know until I try and I understand that. Heck, I never would have thought drive-bys would have been better than phoning for appts.

"IF" EVERYTHING worked according to YOUR scenario it would be a no-brainer. BUT, your scenario is already off according to my numbers and averages over the years. I make more than 5 sales out of 20 leads and I've NEVER worked a 40 hour week in my career.

My eyes are NEVER closed to new ideas though...I've been playing this insurance game between 7 and 37 years and ALWAYS eager to hear fresh ideas.

Scenario A is not what I experience with field sales (drive bys).

It's more like 3 to 4 sales every 10 leads and takes about 8 hours.

I track all my numbers religiously. On an average ill see that my agents have these results per 10 leads:

6 out of 10 leads will usually answer their doors.

my average agent gets to sit down and present to 3 maybe 4 out of the 6

agents will close 40% to 60% of their presentations.

My best agent can get 5 apps in 8 hours. Even my lowest producing agents can get 5 apps in a week. Not that any of my low producing agents actually put in 40 hours a week lol!!!

Ok so your agent gets 6 out of ten to answer. Sits down and talks with 4 of them. Writes 40%...so say 2apps. So with 20 leads he would write 4 apps maybe 5? I can easily do that by calling and setting appointment

You said 3 to 4 apps out of 10 leads. But 6 out of ten answer the door and they get in 40 to 60 percent of those 6. So your agents are closing 100 percent of what they pitch? Think your math is off. If its not....are you hiring? :)

You are not taking into consideration that you will take 2 apps in 1 house. Yes sometimes only 1 app per pitch but you will also get a husband and wife 2 apps per pitch
