Is anyone using the SST software to get in front of people that would be willing to share some marketing ideas? I have just started using it as a value added service for current clients, but I am reluctant to spend another $2,500 for their marketing program.

How do you like the software? I think this is a growing marketing opportunity.

I would use it as a free service for people you want for life and annuities, simply send out a postcard or mailer for this. Is this the same software sms promotes?
I would also give an educational seminar at a local library or someplace and show people why its important and then let them know at the end you provide complementary planning profiles for Social Security.

It is pretty neat, it does everything that it is supposed to do, and also has a social security taxation calculator.

Yes it is the same software that SMS promotes, they have a marketing program with mailer templates, seminar powerpoint, and training cd's and dvds available to their agents for $500, $2,500 for the rest of us.

I am one of their agents for Medicare (written over 150 policies with them in the last 12 months). I am using the SST software for which I pay a monthly fee. They still want me to pay $2,500 up front for their marketing program.

I'm now looking elsewhere (maybe Gradient) for my marketing support. Of course SMS will also lose out on the contracts. Seems pretty short sighted to me, but its their business and they can charge whatever they want.

The people at SST told me that SMS offers the marketing program for only $500 for contracted agents with annuity production as low as $100K. If your production qualifies you, or if you could talk them into waiving the requirement to help get you there, then there would probobly be someone willing to split that cost with you.....;)

The reason for the pricing difference is that Senior Market Sales’ financial products division (annuity, life, ltci) subsidizes the cost of the advisor marketing guide for advisors who do a portion of their financial products business through us. We also have a host of value adds we provide to agents who do Medicare business. Our goal is to provide value-added services that are most fitting to the advisor’s business model.

We appreciate the discussion. Hopefully you find our software and marketing program useful.

Is the SST advisor marketing guide an SMS creation, or an outside purchase that you guys subsidize?

The marketing guide is an SMS creation. That said, approximately 80% of SST subscribers are not insurance producers with Senior Market Sales. The advisor pricing structures are designed to support both models with incentives for advisors to broaden their relationship with SMS.

This seems fair to me. As an agent that sends some annuity business through SMS I wouldn't want them selling to my competitors at the same price I pay. It's a value add for doing business with them.

If you are sending all your annuity business elsewhere, why would you buy marketing systems from SMS? Move your contracts if your FMO is not helping you.
