6-months has never been allowed on the federal DNC rules. Might be one of the state ones you are thinking of.

Here's the update as per google:
"Unless specifically asked not to do so, a company may call a person on the Do Not Call list for up to 31 days after he or she has submitted an application or inquiry to that company". Aug 28, 2018.
