Hello,

Im somewhat of an new agent and needs some help for you experts out there. I have found a company that says i have to invest 300 the first to start. They said they will be providing me with 20 telemarketed appointments a week free after that as long as I produce 2400 in Annual volume. This seem kinda to good to be true from what ive seen others offering. So i was wondering what you guys think.O ya and the contract ..they said it was going to be a 50% with a 9 month advance.

Thanks tedd

Personally, I don't think that's a good deal and I'll tell you why. I have worked for a company in the past who gave me a 50% contract and 4-6 appointments on a daily basis. Production requirements to keep the appointments was 2000 AV. Also I was charged $125 per week for "appointment setter fees." The way it turned out was, the appoinments were never real appointments, so the sales were almost impossible to make. The production requirements were a lie, they were happy if anybody make 1 sale per week! Oh, and the 50% contract is a joke! There are many companies out there that offer up to 110% for final expense, 90-95% for term and so forth. With all the extra money you'll make in commission you can invest some of that into your business for leads, and make LOTS more $$$$$.

Find someone (or a reputable company) to teach you how to generate your own leads. You will forever be a slave until you learn to do it on your own. It's not the easy way, but the only way in my opinion.

There was another thread about this same topic within the last week. Bottom line is that you're better off buying your own leads and getting a street contract. If you need handholding, get a good upline and be upfront about everything and you can probably still get 90%+.

I echo what he said.

I have not yet seen a "good deal" that was in the agent's favor. I'll just bet that they are the agent of record (AOR) also.

If you are not the AOR run, don't walk from those kind of offers.
