You can sell them and assign the policy to a funeral trust, then ven when it has cash value it is not included in their assets. Years ago, Huff-Cook/ Settlers Life had the perfect solution. They had a WL policy that had no cash value. The only non-forfeiture value was a choice of extended term or reduced paid up insurance. Wonder if anyone has that type of product now?
We do in Texas. There are a handful of carriers that sell "stipulated premium" policies. Whole Life with no cash value. On the rare occasion I can't overcome the perceived cash value difficulty, I use one from Western American Life. They're also good when somebody wants insurance on a grown child who lives elsewhere. I can write up to 7k on the parent's sig.
