The Current State Of ObamaCare - ACA

the point of ACA in my opinion was not to lower everyone's health care premiums but to make sure that everyone in America had the chance to be as healthy as possible.

You must not pay attention to news about NHS and the Liverpool Care Pathway.

Or the Veterans Administration.

So, are you for or against expanding medicaid in Texas?

Your book is GONE if they expand

I think its fine the way it is....the kids are covered that's most important. If an adult wont get off their butt and go make at least $1000 a month to heck with 'em. If they have a serious condition they get the Caid. Good enough!

I have more important things to spend on than the 1100 this crap will cost me month

So what happened to your waitress making under 100% FPL and doesn't get medicaid, and doesn't get a subsidy? Are you saying she/he is lazy and doesn't deserve coverage?

You can't have it both ways. You've been fighting for the low income crowd, what happened?

I admit I'm confused. Are you implying that Obamacare was designed to emulate those programs? Or to point out that things need to be continually reviewed and adjusted to succeed?

Not so fast there sparky....she makes 150% FPL.
Yes I'm saying their lazy if they don't make 1k a month and yes they don't deserve it. There are always exceptions but this is generally the case. I'm for the folks that work hard jobs that just don't pay very much. I'm also for the folks that work hard and make great money.

I talked to a woman yesterday who lost a job four years ago (plant closed) making $20 per hour. She cannot find a job that will pay her $11.00 per hour. She is driving a 1991 pickup that is in desperate need of repair and she does not have the money to fix it. This woman is not lazy.

40 hrs wk @ $6.25 = 1k month

Ooops....

Not So Fast Raising My Minimum Wage, Say Seattle Waiters and Bartenders - Businessweek

Seattle's push to become the first big U.S. city with a $15-an-hour minimum wage has hit a snag: opposition from waiters and bartenders.

Fearing a dip in their tip income, some are telling local politicians they're just fine with the status quo. In Washington state, that means $9.32 an hour—plus tips that, for Seattle bartender Bridget Maloney, can add another $45 an hour on weekends. She's hearing that customers may be stingier if the wage measure pushed by Seattle Mayor Ed Murray passes.
