The Current State Of ObamaCare - ACA

Depends on the state. In the HCSC states, they are selling Blues

I noticed that when inputting a BCBS-IL application today. It looks like State Farm corporate office is assigned the commission. They must pay the enrolling agent a percentage.

Years ago I talked with SF about an in-agency position. Everything would be owned by the agency. All comp went to the agency. He would pay me a nominal salary + a % of the commission.

When I pressed on the % he agreed to split the major med commission 50-50 and pay me 10% on life business. Also had a quota of $15k in life premium which is a lot for a guy that never writes life biz.

I passed.

10 whole percent? How generous of him.

Now that the Supreme Court has decided once again not to change Obamacare, we can expect to see new rules and directives flowing once again from an emboldened WhiteHouse, HHS, IRS, DOL, etc. I read tonight that there's a backlog of them. The groups that were urging HHS to make Pregnancy a SEP for 2016 are re-energized as well.

No doubt there is a lot of truth in that observation.

You can also look for pressure on carriers to expand their networks.

My magic 8 ball says "Premiums will rise accordingly"

Companies that don't want to endure the additional B&B only have a few more days to let Uncle Sammie know they don't want to play next year.

Speaking of that...what is the deadline. BCBSTX still hasn't posted the PPO increases. Or hc.gov isn't keeping the site updated. One of those....
